Stars and Stripes Forever...

Happy July 4, my American friends. Who knows how long it may be that I join in the fireworks celebration along with you??

Today also marks the beginning of the 10 day long Calgary Stampede. They say that attendance is down this year, but then again, most everything is down this year! 96 years and still wearing tight ass Levi's and Wrangler's, and those ten gallon hats. Oh those ten gallon hats.
In crazy NHL news, Jaromir Jagr has left the NHL to play in the Russian Superleague. I'm sure that there's a True Hollywood Story behind all this, but what a great way to Stick It to the NHL also! Great move, and a great way to stay closer to home. See you soon Mario Jr. Also, the Canucks partially redeemed themselves after letting Markus Naslund go, they pick up Steve Bernier from the Sabres Firesale.
Good for Kevin Lowe for finally standing up for himself. He's got many good points, and is really in a tough job for a mid market Canadian team with a legacy longer than many US teams.
In NBA news, Chris Duhon signs for two years with the Knicks and Mike D'Antoni's new regime. This not only puts Marbury's status in jeopardy, but gives the Knicks a PG who actually listens to the coach for once. In other great news, CP3 got his well deserved contract extension. 4 years, $68 Million, that sounds just about right for a very near-future MVP of the league. Not to steal from the thunder, but Gil Zero also re-signed with the Wizards for 6 years for $111 Million. Great for Gil Zero, horrible for the Wiz.
All that pales in comparison to the $96 Million mistake that TD Bank just found!!!
Funny seeing Ashy Larry as a barber!! Swoosh has always been a marketing juggernaut:

A band of employees at the 40/40 club are trying to sue Jay-Z for unfair labour practices. This is actually old news, but I thought it would be funny to note that it's still looming. It's always lonely at the top.
