While almost finishing my Xmas shopping, I was in Bath and Body Works at the mall yesterday and came upon two thoughts:
(1) I am glad that the globalization of such brands has saved me from having to cross borders to buy Xmas presents that Canadians "can't usually get" on our side of the border.
(2) Sometimes I scare myself. Case in point, I'm shopping for last minute stocking stuffer type things for the Aunties, cousins, and Capital M of course, and I find myself knowing WAY too much about this store Bath and Body Works. I'm picking up products left and right, salesgirls are hounding me with "Did you find what you're looking for?" "YUP."
I've got the Japanese Cherry Blossom Soap, the Sweet Pea Gel, the Lime Verbena Lotion, the Fresh Cucumber Soap, the Midnight Pomegranate Lotion, and then I get stuck. There's NO Vanilla Noel Soap left. Dammit. Dude beside me looks into my shopping bad and says, "Dude, you gotta help me!" Conversation ensues:
Homee: "uhhhh ok, what are you looking for?"
Dude: "No idea!"
Homee: "Is it for your girl?"
Dude: "Yah, and her mom too!"
Homee: "Ok, what does she like?"
Dude: "No idea!"
Homee: "Ok, is she into fruity smells, or heavy smells?"
Dude: "No idea!"
Homee: "Ok, let's go with what I know, Japanese Cherry Blossom, Midnight Pomegranate, Lime Verbena, Sweet Pea, Enchanted Orchid, Irresistable Apple, and Mango Mandarin are all usually good. They're out of Vanilla Noel though"
Dude: "You're sure this is going to work?"
Homee: "Dude, I've been doing this for 11 years, trust me."
Dude: "Damn, ok! Thanks man!!"
Saleslady: "Wow! You could WORK here!"
Homee: "I thought about it once, but nah. It would be hazardous for my health!!"
Saleslady: "I think you know more about this stuff than I do!"
Homee: "Exactly."
I Heart Retail.
Monday Morning Pompason Quarterback Week 13:
- The Giants look very scary this year. I'm looking for that Brandon Jacobs #27 jersey officially now.
- You already know about the Cowboys and the 'Hawks. Romo played well, and spread the ball equally. Everyone held their breath when Ware and Barber went to the locker rooms though. I'll still root the Cowboys as the underdogs this year.
- Detroit is REALLY that horrible.
- McNabb came back strong, but it's way too little too late. What do they do in the off-season?
- I can't believe that there are some Pats fans that actually want to KEEP Cassel and TRADE Brady? That's just insanity. Do they know what they're talking about?? Brady brought you the Holy Grail Three Times!!! The way the Steelers romped over the Pats, hopefully that puts an end to those rumors.
- Favre at home lost to the .... Broncos? ACK! What happened there?
- The Saints (Brees) and the Chargers (Rivers) really let me down this year. I knew they weren't Superbowl ready, but they should have been at least Playoff ready? Cot Dam.
- The Bills may have lost their playoff hopes to ... the Niners? Whoa. Didn't see that one coming. Shaun Hill looks like he may be the future of SF. Bills and Miami are in TO next Sunday. Should I go?
- I'm definitely sleeping thru the Monday Nighter...
Kanyeezy just has to stop. Please stop. Stop Kanye. Sleeping while you're in Auckland? Life's that good huh? I was in Best Buy yesterday, faced with the decision "Cop the new CD or not". Final Decision: I officially am NOT going to cop the new Kanye CD. YES, that's right, I am boycotting the new 808's and Heartbreak CD. Not because of Kanye, but more because of AUTOTUNE. For those who dunno, Autotune is that voice synthesizer that makes you sound like Mr. Roboto. This is not a musical instrument, it's not artistic, and it's really crap. Hence why I usually boycott anything with T-Pain on it, as well as this whole CD. I know not every tune on Kanye's CD has AutoTune on it, but it's principles. Now if anyone wants to GIVE me the CD for Xmas, I'll take it I guess, but I'm not spending my hard earned cash on this so-called musical offering. Besides, when's the last time anyone bought a CD they REALLY liked front to back? Rant over. Resume life.
Am I the only person who's not happy that Britney's Back?
Now for the low cost of $149, Atlas Sports Genetics can test if your child will be the next Beckham, Gretzky, or Sam Bowie!! I'll still settle for my own hockey team! (Including a goalie!)

my friend gave me kanye's cd, but i bought it anyways! i haaaad to...and surprisingly i like it.
I don't HATE Kanye, just strongly dislike this last effort that he put out to the public. That's all!
