Just like in Dallas, expect a few changes in Phoenix in the off-season as many more teams are getting more aggressive at grabbing those rings! Gotta love the NBA Playoffs!!

The Hawks barely held on to avoid going down against the Celtics. Now that the series is tied 2-2, the Celts will have to buckle down to get two more wins if they are serious about the number one seed! The Lakers were the only team that swept in the first round, and what a statment they made to the rest of the West. Just when you think the Lakershow has had too much Hollywood, Phil Jackson comes through on a mission for just one more Ring!!
Congrats to Byron Scott who earned NBA Coach of the Year honors for 2007-8!! I remember Byron in his Grizzlies days, and he was always an A-1 class act. We had the pleasure of sitting in front of his wife and twins for two years of our season's tickets in Vancity. Well Done Mr. Scott!

The Pistons evened their series with Philly at two games apiece and showed that this series may go to the Full seven games. Philly is playing balls out with six players averaging double figures this playoff set. The Suns avoided a series sweep against the Spurs. Coach D'Antoni told them to do some soul searching, how about they need to do some DEFENSE Searching Mike?? It has been said before, Defense wins Championships. The Hornets totally dismantled the Mavs, putting them ahead 3-1 in their series. JKidd got ejected from the game for an absolutely horrible flagrant 2 foul on Jannero Pargo. What in the world was JKidd thinking, trying to snap Pargo's head off?? Mark Cuban got into a shouting match with a Dallas fan also, guess who got ejected from that battle??
The best drama so far in the NBA playoffs by far has been LeBron James vs DeShawn Stevenson. Does Stevenson know when to just shut up and play? Even Jay-Z in LeBron's corner has gotten into the mix! Poor DeShawn will never be able to walk into a club again!
The NFL Draft had a few surprises, but it looks as if the Seahawks made out OK. Day One proved to me that there are way too many kids coming out of the college ranks, and just not enough positions to fill on the NFL Teams. Expansion into Canada, may be the answer, or even NFL Europe, but I can't imagine a kid from the age of 12/13 being groomed into being a football player, getting drafted, and not even making the team! Insanity.

The Raptors tried really hard, but got their butts handed to them in Game 4 to go down 3-1 in their series with Orlando. Despite 39 points and 15 boards from Bosh, the Raps just couldn't overcome DHoward, Turkoglu and Rashard Lewis. Note to the off-season, need at least one more impact player on our team!! The Hawks avoided a sweep and won Game 3 with a strong 3rd quarter against the Celtics. The Jazz pushed Houston to the brink of getting eliminated by winning game 4 to pull the series to 3-1. Houston and TMac are really like the Raptors in that they need their second superstar to push forward in these playoffs. The Lakershow went up 3-0 in their series against Denver. Kobe once again stuck it to the Nuggets with a humble 22 points, 7 boards, and 8 assists. Too much mentioning Kobe, I'm starting to get a rash.

The TTC is going to get legislated back to work this Sunday afternoon. Pretty crazy that they would go on strike, not honor their 48 hour agreement, vote to reject the deal that was tentatively agreed upon, and now get stuck behind the 8-ball in their negotiations by getting Trumped by the government. They are not necessarily being declared an essential service just yet, but they are definitely at a huge disadvantage for getting a better deal by pulling out the strike card. The worst part is that the taxi's were overcharging all weekend and just laughing at the business being poured into their laps, especially on Fri night/Sat morning.

The TTC sprung a good surprise on the city and went on strike at midnight today. The Mayor is about to order them all back to work instead of paralyzing the city. Although there was no 48 hour notice given, the head of TTC said that workers were getting threats the last time they served notice of strike. If they were scared of threats back then, just wait until the public gets to see them now!! TTC drivers will have to have security guards on all trains and busses just to ensure their safety! Eeeeediots.
Went to go see Harold and Kumar 2 tonight. I think I split my spleen open laughing so hard!! If you are weak of stomach, or easily offended, don't go! They pretty much took shots at every visible minority stereotype, but still brought new humor to the table with it! The Rockets and TMac played their guts out, and got a win in Utah. Reefer Alston showed up and definitely took some pressure of the double teams of TMac. The NBA Playoffs, where sitting on the edge of your seat happens!

The Laker Show destroyed the Nuggets again, as Kobe showed all of his arsenal on the offensive end this time around. NBA Playoffs continue. I really think that the NCAA Bowl Championship Series should take a look at taking the Final 8 or Final 16 college football teams and have a single elimination knock out tournament style. They would generate WAY more money and could still hold their sites for each round. Each site could have it's own BOWL trophy name if needed also. Would be much more exciting and a much more legit way of crowning a Football champion. The Nat'l Champ would have to win 3-4 in a row at the end of the year to be the REAL Nat'l Champ! Who do we need to talk to to make that happen?
But I digress...The Raptors were kicked in the teeth as the NBA Finals proved too big for them on Game One. Down by as much as 20 in the first quarter, allowing 43 points in the first frame, the Raptors never led. I smell some big changes in the off-season for the home team. The Laker-show was way too much for the Nuggets. I kinda knew with what Lebron, CP3, and Robo-Duncan showed off last night, Kobe was on a mission today. Congrats to Pau Gasol for winning his first playoff game Ever! The biggest upset so far was Philly taking it to Detroit. Motown severely misjudged Philly's ability to execute in the 4th quarter, I suggest they take notes from all the other teams so far and just put 'em away, instead of letting them hang around. The Celts were all over the Hawks as expected. We'll see how far the Boston Machine can take it to the Eastern Conference. ATL looks like they still need a point guard, too bad they won't give up Al Horford for one! :)
Wow, in a bold move, the Blue Jays cut Frank Thomas by "mutual consent". Very classy by The Big Hurt to step aside, but he never should have started the season if he knew he wasn't going to finish it. Sometimes the clock just runs out.
