So, I've been finding ways to occupy my time with my new BlackBerry. I've finished all the levels on WordMole, Won $5,000 on Texas Hold'em Poker, Made a few travel notes, and listened to the new Jay-Z song "Run This Town" about 1500 times.

After his release of the "D.O.A. - Death of Autotune" lead single from the Blueprint 3 album, many people questioned the second release of "Run This Town". My own circle tried to break it down, and the consensus is that this is just another track that will either grow on you slow, or you will never like it. As for me, it has grown on me, but because of Rihanna on the hook, it may never grow on me (similar to "Hollywood" on Kingdom Come, it has never grown on me).
Here are my thoughts, just my thoughts:
Right away, Rihanna's voice makes my skin curl on the opening. Not a good sign.

1:19 Ri-Ri "walkin tall against the rain" Post-CB Beating, walking tall? Against the rain? Under her umbrella-ella-ella-eh-eh-eh...
1:54 "augh augh" see: D.O.A. "Augh"
1:58 "maison Martin Margiela" there he goes again, next next next level. Possibly to rival Kanye's Louis deal?
2:10 "they should throw they hand in cause they ain't got no spades" see: "Excuse Me Miss": "all I need is a partnerto play spades with the cards up, ALL TRUST"

Kanye definitely kills his verse. Quite possibly as a recoup after the "Death of Autotune" jab to show that he's still lyrically relevant? You decide!

There's obviously WAY more than this embedded into this track, but Lyrically I like it! Like I said, the Ri-Ri part really annoys me, but I could look past it.
Can't wait for Blueprint 3 now. Quite possible I'd cop two copies just to boost sales!
