Day One with brand new baby at home, and I should take my own advice, Be Careful What You Wish For! We knew it was coming, the adjusted (maladjusted) sleep schedule. We knew it was coming, the dirty diaper poops! We knew it was coming, the adjustment for Brooklyn to the new environment. Never did we imagine such new adventures though!
Baby BK totally doesn't fit into her crib. For now she sleeps in the Pack n Play Bassonnet. She's still a pebble in the ocean in this thing. I think she was thrown off, because for once, she had a morning where no one was taking blood, poking at her feet, trying to weigh her, and listen to her heart rate!
Then came the real fun. We woke up to realize that the power had gone out at 5am! No lights, no phone, no TV, no internets, no hot water, no laundry, NOTHING. There was a bad storm last night and they think it was a blown transformer. I even had to walk down 9 flights of stairs, went to the Timmy's to grab breakfast (no hot water or electricity, remember?) and then walk back up 9 flights of stairs (no elevator), down a pitch black hallway, all for Capital M! (awwww)
Guess who was not phased one bit by all the morning action. Not One Bit.
I lied, only a dirty diaper can phase this Baby!
We had our first unexpected Diaper Change Surprise today also! Just as M was changing Brooklyn, she had the dirty diaper off, and Brooklyn decided right then and there that she wasn't done pooping! Awesome! So, with poop on her PJ's, and mom trying to clean it up, what more could Brooklyn do to rub it in? That's right, she pee'd right then and there also. Lucky the pee was on M's side of the bed. Safe to say, Brooklyn also got her very first bath at home today also.
People have been wondering how Leonidas has been acting with the new baby in the house? Is he jealous? Is he curious? Does he play with her?
You tell me. Business as Usual for King Leonidas. Quality Lap time with his Daddy.
But yes, to answer, Leo is curious, he's smelled Brooklyn a few times, but hasn't scratched her, pawed at her, or tried to play just yet. It'll take him about 5 days, the same as it does with any stranger that comes to stay with us for him.
