Thank you to all my new found readers around the world and from the Twitter universe! I do appreciate the love and support! If you haven't already, go check what's happening over at CNG Concepts. Don't sleep on that! You might just find something special over there!
This pic just cracks me the hell up. If you haven't heard by now, the ShamWow guy is in jail. CORNHOLIO!!!
I really really think the Raptors need to sign Pops Mensa-Bonsu... For the sole purpose that he can say "GET ON MY POSTER!"
This was what we did when there was no Google: Hilarious!!
RIP King Magazine. There were some good times, some bad times, some Great times. Ummm yah, where were we again??
BigToh just put me on to the new Crackberry 9630: SIGN ME UP!
If you haven't already noticed, Breakfast Television and CP24 have officially divorced. I've been watching BT on CP24 ever since I've moved to Toronto 7 years ago. Kevin and Layla, and now Kevin and Dina, Frankie Flowers, Jenn, and the whole gang, they are like family to me in the mornings. Now, when I get up, I gotta check the weather on CP24 and then I flip to CityTV. Yikes. How you gonna expect me to change the channel at 7am?? And may I just say, the Breakfast on CP24....FAIL. I got love for my Dude Matte Babel, but the whole setup is just a FAIL. Matte and Melissa Grelo, just don't beat the chemistry and charm of a Kevin Frankish and Dina Pugliese. (even though Melissa's been dressing sexier these days!). Ann Rohmer and these roaming/moving camera angles, not good. In fact, they're making me nauseous. Cam Wooley... 'nuff said. And Steve Anthony in the traffic chopper?? Wow. For whatever reason that they thought that CP24 would be better off without Breakfast Television, they thought wrong. And who said that it would be a great idea to have "Just another breakfast TV show??" It's bad enough that nobody watches Canada AM, and whatever the heck is on CBC that early! Get it straight CP24, please fix it soon!
Fellas, thank me later. Thank Gawd for La Perla:
Get ready New Yorkers, another reason to spend yourselves silly!! At least if you're a woman that is. TopShop is set to open in Manhattan!! If you don't know what TopShop is, you better hide your plastic, credit card AND Debit card!!!
So let me get this straight... Andre 3000 releases his clothing line at Holt's, and then two weeks later gets arrested for Speeding? 109 mph in a 65? I'm definitely changing his name to Andre109!!
My bro sent me this: Go Bobby Knight Go, Rock On!
I really hope the Raptors sign this Mensa-Bonsu kid: Then he can say, "GET ON MY POSTER!!!"
Sunday was detox/recovery day from last night. I totally forgot I had a presentation to do at the Bike Store tonight, so I had to quickly get my act together and prepare for the meeting! Luckily, they put me on last, and I stole the show as usual! ;) I love batting cleanup!
In honor of some recent Fails, I bring you the best of last week in FailBlog: This looks like its a booming business! I wonder if I can apply for a franchise??
Hahahaha! Year of the Dragon indeed! Nice Tiger loser!!
This dude reminds me of the "Extreme" guys from Harold and Kumar!! Except obviously this guy is "Exreme"!!
If you ever see these in the store, just run and hide!! Pee Cola? For real? And did they have to color it yellow too? Ewwwww!
The Juno Awards went off tonight in Vancity. Notable winners, Kardinall, Sarah McLachlan, Nickelback, Lights (not Kreesha Turner, Boo!), and wait a sec, Michael Buble didn't win anything this year? What? Whoa! Big shout outs to all the winners, all the nominees, Mark Strizzy the MC, and everyone having a great time in my home town! (even if the tickets weren't sold out!)
Congrats to Tigger Woods who won his first Tournament since his injury comeback at the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill. Tigger sunk a 15 foot birdie putt on the last hole to win it by one! Well done big Daddy, well done!
Congrats to Duke Nation! Even though the season is over, the Blue Devils managed to sign Seth Curry, the other son of Dell Curry. He won't play until his sophomore season in 2010-2011, but that's ok! He's more than welcome to come play for Duke! Let's Go Duke!!
Oh yah, it was Earth Hour last night at 8:30pm. Nothing big nor noticeable really happened. We were too drunk off of Sake to notice! Sorry Mother Nature, but you've already screwed us so badly as it is!! If it helps, we really didn't use up any electricity nor nuclear power!!
This is still THE BESTEST:
Song of the Day: Drawn to the Rhythm - Sarah McLachlan (Junos 1992)
Today was buzy buzy running errands in the neighborhood. This place is taking the neighborhood by storm.
A kids daycare center (which already got tagged up).
And a kids party center right beside it!
The big-ass ice cream cone is NOT a signal that it's a front for kiddie porn, I've met the owners and they're pretty smart, cool peoples.
This place on the other hand... I cannot guarantee to you that it's not a front for something suspicious going on inside. "Youth Talent Agency"?? Really? Seriously? Really now?
"Hi ho, hi ho, it's dig a hole we go...."
Ummm, "Improving Public Transit Together"?? I can't recall ever being asked to do this project "together"! You dudes just came, dug up the street, shut off the water, and never Told anybody!!
You'll start seeing these new garbage bins around the city. GREAT waste of money. You step on the metal bar at the bottom, and the flaps open, for all u germophobes out there. This one also got tagged up in No time.
When I get old and grey, I want to be like these two. They were the cutest couple at Timmy's. Total true unconditional love.
Some crazy lady in the laundrymat. She serious used the scarf as a Sars Mask the whole time. Pretty funny!
This lady was wearing ELVIS jeans. That's right, no typo. ELVIS. I tried to told her that they were Fake Levi's, but she wasn't listening.
Dammit dammit dammit dammit, I hate rejection!!
So after I was running around all day, what the heck was Leonidas doing? Sunbathing of course!!
I had the good fortune of meeting up with some Twitter folks for Twitter Sushi tonight. Shout outs to @emti, @Roshine, @toflo, @bennybing, and Nenah (whenever you sign up for Twitter, let us know!!). Sushi was great, service was crap, food was good, but the company was even better! Then we jetted out to random club #1, but it was bunk. How are you gonna have a hiphop party and not let a dude wear a baseball cap?? Shaking My Head. Then we departed that and went to club #2, and it was a total opposite scene. Asian Triad kids in the back, dudes and cool folk in the middle, and funny crazy people ramming up the front. I actually saw a dude wearing a LUGZ jersey that was vintage authentic, and that just made my whole night complete. Sake, Sapporo, Goose, Heinekin, and "Benny why the heck did you order up that tequila?" no wait, "Emti, why the heck did you ask for that tequila??" Like they always say, Tequila WILL fcuk up your whole night! I guess I'm paying for it now, but truly, it was all worth it. Every laugh was worth it! Good times yalls! Sorry, no pics and no flicks, but I'mma try to get a hold of them later!! Twitter Bowling and Twitter Pho next up! Stay Tuned!
Whooo Hooo What a Friday it was! Good jokes, Boss was away, Mary Brown's Chicken for lunch, got out of the office on time, and Grey Goose was waiting for me at home! Ahhhhh, Once Again It's For Life! Much to see and do for the weekend..... Stay Tuned!! Must kill Goose in the meantimes!!
So it looks like Marc Ecko is in trouble. Like Six Zeros type of trouble. $170 Million in debt! Wowzers, look how far we done came!
I'm horribly Disappointed at what they did to Cobra Commander in the new GI Joe movie. What the fcuk were they thinking? I'm sorry for the profanity, but for one of the classic evil bad guys in all of cartoon/toy land, how the heck do you screw that up?? Just put the damn blue hood on a guy!! Or even easier, go back to the helmet and mask! WTF is this thing with tubes in his face?? Looks like Freddy Kreuger meets the Predator if you ask me! *le sigh*
Readers, meet Heinekin2D2. Shwwweeet!
GEEEEEEEEEEKED!!!
If this lil baby doesn't make you absolutely laugh out loud, you got some problems:
I got a chance to check out my boy T-Money's West End Gala Event at the Bay Downtown. No pics, no flicks, just free drinks (no Grey Goose, I know!), a bit of shopping, catching up with some old coworkers, and some good old friends. Shout outs to TWaldrizzy, Mookie, Jimmy Monterrry, Rose, Victor, Fareda, Billy Yee, ACampos, and the rest of the store team over at Queen and Bay. Although you're out in Bramladesh, keep holdin down the fort! Keep the faith!!
These are from the weekend but still relevant. TnT Supermarket is such a wonder place to explore. This reminds me of the old episodes of Fear Factor!
If I ever ran into a cow that looked like this, I would run for my life! Lucky he's not carrying a meat cleaver! We ran into BigTimeW and Hank also just by chance! Reminds me, we have to go Goose Killing again sometime soon W!
I have never had the need for Ginseng, but the caucasian people were swarming this rack like it was Crack on a stick! Some say that the benefits of Ginseng are all a myth, I've never needed to try it. Meh.
Oh Em Gee!! (OMG!) If you've NEVER tried eating this before, you GOTTA try it! It's the BESTEST fruit on the PLANET! I highly encourage you to buy one, cut it open, and take a huge bite out of it! It's the bestest! It's called "Durian" and you gotta ask for it by name! Or, if you see one this summer in Chinatown, just Buy it! Damn good!
Even TnT tried a gimmicky scratch and win thing for their anniversary. We won a free loaf of Garlic bread, but we ended up throwing the ticket in the trash. We wanted to give it to a homeless person, but being out by the Docks, there WERE NO homeless folks around there!
Condolences to Duke Nation. Our team's season ended today with a loss to Villanova. The Dukies just couldn't handle the defensive pressure and the switches from 'Nova. Combine that with the crappy play and crappier shooting of Gerald Henderson. The Devils also shot horribly from Three, which usually means that they're not putting up too many points either. The Devils also got exploited for not having any talented legitimate size at Center, and it was all too easy to get defeated with no defense in the middle. The NCAA tournament is truly the greatest championship format on earth. Too bad our boys just weren't enough to win it all. I never expected them to neither, but it'd have been nice...
Ladies, if you haven't gotten on Stella McCartney's fashions, it's not too late!! I would say to hurry, before you see it getting knocked off at your local Tweener retailer!!
Turns out that Kanyeezy really IS using a Ghost Blogger! Two of them in fact! Yah right, there was never any doubt in my mind! The dude was posting while he was in the air on a plane, and while he was in jail over the LAX incident! Duhhhhh! Complex says that Marcus Troy is a front runner for who the Ghost Blogger is. I say, Is Kanye's Blog even relevant anymore at this point?
Guess what movie is coming out on my Bday??
GEEEEEEEEEEKED!!
And guess what else is coming out in October???
GEEEEEEEEEEKED!!
Song of the Day: Method of Modern Love - Hall & Oates
The day just flew by didn't it? Literally, I had stared at my laptop for what seemed like ten minutes, and BAM it was 6pm! What's worse, I almost forgot what the day was! I rushed to Pistachio to grab a card, jetted to the Cupcake Shoppe ten minutes before close, picked up a half dozen precious lovelies, and scurried over to Chapters for a few things. Yes, today is my and Capital M's anniversary. She made braised lamb shank and smashed potaters for dinner, and we had a great evening just the two of us and our son Leonidas. (I got a refill on my Aqua Di Gio and a bathrobe. Yay.) I guess when you're at 12 years strong, it's not about the gifts, but the special times throughout all the years. The special memories that stand out. The actual anniversary day, sure it's a milestone, and sure it's a reason to celebrate, but it really doesn't define the relationship itself. Happy 12th Anny Capital M!
Did anyone else see that FoxNews piece of crap reporter Greg Gutfeld criticize the Canadian Military? Now, not only is FoxNews a piece of crap waste of airtime station, but whoever this guy is, should not only be fired, but be put in a uniform and sent directly to Iraq to search for roadside bombs!! What an idiot! Look buddy, soldiers sign up to go to war so that spineless punk asses like yourself can run your drunken mouth on television. And then you're going to go and disrespect their sacrifice like that? What's worse in my eyes is that the entire US loses because of this incompetent fool. Oh, and he issued an apology in writing: How EXTRA Spineless is it to issue a WRITTEN apology when you just finished running your mouth on live tv? Wouldn't it be more pertinent and fitting to at least read it aloud on TV so that we could see and hear some emotion behind it? You spineless summab*tch! Can you imagine, it's bad enough that Obama has so much hard work ahead of him trying to fix the economy, and retarded so-called reporters such as this guy are ruining public relations and foreign relations with dumbass comments like these? Couldn't Obama just run them off the air, and take away their broadcasting licence? Homee says, Boycott FoxNews with all your might. Run them out of business, and make them suffer for bringing on such idiots like that. Everything in life has consequences and repercussions. **Rant over**
Congrats to Team Japan for winning their second straight World Baseball Classic Championship! It was a 10th inning two run, two out single from Ichiro that won it all 5-3!! Yu Darvish is going to be one heckuva pitcher in the Major Leagues! Watch for this kid! I'm just happy that my New Era Team Japan fitted hat has been getting double takes and triple takes all week long!
I gotta tell y'alls, I have converted. I tried out the Crest Spinbrush, and I'm converted to electric toothbrushes now! It really does clean better and faster than regular brushing! One word of warning, don't push it against your teeth too hard, and don't watch TV while brushing because everything starts to look blurry after a bit! Major headache! Other than that, it's Homee approved!
I strongly believe in karma, and I gotta give love where I got love. Thanks to TOFLO for adding me on the blogroll! (I just wish y'all told me that you added me to your blogroll!) Thanks for spreading the love and proliferating the good word! If you are adding/have added me to your blogroll, shout me back and I'll make sure you get my readers too!
Do you realize that if Pharell wasn't Pharell, he'd be arrested and have a body cavity search at this minute:
Makes me wonder what drives people to do certain things and act the way they do.
Funny how when most people have hangovers they say, "Never again". I say "why not"? It WILL happen again. Now, I'm not an alcoholic, really I'm not. I'm not dependent on it, and I don't have an addiction (although it does appear so on my Twitter!). Grey Goose happens to be my drink of choice, is all. I went through my phases: Labbatt's Genuine Draft, Corona, Alize, Hpnotiq, Heinekin, Keith's, Sake, Sapporo, and now just happens to be Grey Goose. So sue me that I have a distinguished taste. (Double Grey Goose on the rocks, lemon twist, BTW)
SO, that being said, the morning at work was quite slow motion. I actually made it in on time, with an XL Double double in my hand no less. I even made it all the way to 6:30 pm without as much as a hiccup. I didn't know whether it was years and years of going through this from Sonar Wednesdays to Industry night Tuesdays, or just me getting better with age! Either way, a full recovery was made, and I thank my dear readers for their support!
I'm really not one to brag, but look at my last week in the Fantasy Pools! First place overall, and a first round bye in the first round of the playoffs! Nice!
Had brunch with some out of towners at the Hot House Cafe today. It's amazing how much food you can cram into your body when you really want to, and the food is SOOO good! Sunday all you can eat brunch should at least come with a Warning on it! Later on in the evening, got the chance to go to KK's Bday. It also happened to be Chris Bosh's 25th bday as well! It was down in Liberty Village, and the place was jam packed. As we got in the door, Jose Calderon and Anthony Parker were leaving. Inside, we saw Coach Triano, CB4, Bargnani, and even JKapono. Tons of folks came out of the woodworks for this one, ugly girls, nice girls, old girls, young girls, girls who "didn't wanna be bothered", and even the Sea Donkeys! Shout outs to Sweets, Ancel, BoogieMuzik, Quiet Storm, and of course Happy Bday to KK!
I ended up at 38/49 in the first two rounds of the NCAA tournament. That's 78% which qualifies for a B+. Not bad, not bad. The dudes in the office are all jealous, mostly because they have no clue whatsoever. Sometimes I think I work in an alternate universe. :S
Song of the Day: Do You Wanna Get Funky - C+C Music Factory
Congrats to the Duke Bluedevils who made it to the Sweet 16!! The Devils beat the Texas Longhorns 74-69, as the Dukies lost a 10 point lead. Kyle Singler and Lance Thomas both fouled out, and things came right down to the wire! Next up for the Dukies, Villanova on Thursday! LET'S GO DUKE!
I do have to apologize for the last week. The new job is creating logistical problems with my blog-keeping and Twitter is killing my sense of humor timing. Go figure. So... in an effort to catch up on my favorite hobby, here's some news for your edumacation! -If you bought Nordstrom branded shoes for girls in the past three years, Bring Them Back. -Jill Sander is now head design consultant for Uniqlo. Wow! That's a great look for Miss Sander, and a better look for Uniqlo! I am really REALLY craving some Uniqlo wovens right about soon! Gotta make that trip to SoHo! -Congrats to Joanne Nemeroff, former VP of Aldo Shoes, now the new President of La Senza! She got some hard work ahead of her, but there are some pockets of opportunity for La Senza to get back on track again! Hit me up for more details!! -Debenham's is badly in the red, but plans to create 1200 new jobs. Huh? When did that ever make sense? A net debt of One Billion Pounds, and I would be worried if I was in that head office! Pink Slips anyone?? -Nike is restructuring and changing their "regions" into six streamlined, more efficient regions. Sure, drink the Koolaid, drink the Koolaid. Look, everyone is hurting in retail, and nobody is immune. Changes and cutbacks are emminent. I'm more eager to see who is going to LEAD the pack in terms of finding their growth opportunities and make some noise in the marketplace again!
Ex-Grizzlies coach and good friend of Bryan Colangelo, Marc Iavaroni is in town for the rest of the season. Apparently, he's been brought in to "take notes" on the Raptors, but that's just silliness. Of COURSE he's going to be the next coach of the Raptors. I wish him well, he's got a bunch of heartless Kanye's on his hands to inspire!
For those who are still trying to figure out Twitter...
These were brought to my attention by BigToh: Yes, Casio G-Shock has totally gone off the edge! I still say, "IT'S A DIGITAL WATCH!" but I guess there are others that disagree. Either way, I don't think I could wear these!
Fellas, you been done sleeping if you aren't up to speed on Agent Provocateur!! One of my favoritest Vancity stores EVER, these folks will have your girl about as hyped as a trip to Tiffany's! Trust me on this one, just trust me! She won't go back to her Joe Fresh Unnawears ever again! (Thanks for the heads up BigToh!)
Again, if you EVER catch me sleeping at a McD's, please just shoot me. No really, just SHOOT ME! Please!!
So I spent the day over in Kensington Market for Gee Wunder's video shoot.
Times are really TOUGH especially in Kensington, even the Mannequins are nekkid!!
I find it funny how "Crowd Mentality" always causes a stir. We were trying to convince people that Jay-Z was here, but they wanted Brad Pitt. Go figure.
Gee Wunder, the man of the Day.
The art that surrounds Kensington is really quite incredible. If you get the chance to stop and take it in, it's really quite something.
I don't even consider it to be graffitti, it truly is art. "Welcome to Kensington".
JayBo, Quiet Storm, Gee Wunder = The Live Motivators. Indeed.
Sorry Vancouverites, I'm really just not done with TDot just yet. Not even close. We took a side trip to do the sneaker tour and hit up Skam at Livestock, and Oliver at Ransom/Goodfoot. So lucky that it was cold as heck outside because I could've laid down for about 3 more pairs of kicks! Will power prevails!!
Sake. If you can find it, it's your's! Oh, and I even walked right by Sass today! I had to take a triple take before I finally figured out who she was! I didn't know if I should call her Zucket, Sass, Konichiwa?? By the time I knew it, she was gone in a flash! *Le sigh*
This dude is a Chinatown legend. The handless, legless, remixing wonder. He plays the keyboard and if you're lucky, he plays with a cigarette hanging out the side of his mouth!! Of course you have to stick it in his mouth and light it for him, but it's quite amusing! We were thinking that Gee should do a live remix Freestyle with the dude, but that wasn't happenin.
Final shoot was in the garage, sorry for the weird lighting. We were all FREEZING our butts off once the sun started going down. The crew had dinner at McD's (ironic), but Quiet Storm and I jumped out to Hong Shing.
Big Shout outs to JayBo & Nessa, Quiet Storm & Snuffaluppagus, Gee Wunder, Twist, Tone Mason, Kurupt, and all the boys in the hood crew. Stay Tuned for the finished product, and Long Live the Live Motivators!!
Today also marks the day I left AW. Just sayin.
Song of the Day - Gather Round - Gee Wunder
See if you can find the Homee cameo in this one! ;)
