For Once In My Life I Have Someone Who Needs Me, Someone I've Needed So Long, For Once Unafraid, I Can Go Where Life Leads Me.....

The first T.G.I.F. since Baby BK has been born, and what a Friday indeed! The last week I've been at work I was there in body, but NOT mind at all!
S'funny that having a new baby girl in your life, your priorities completely shift. This has led me to question many things in my life even before she was born! All of a sudden, those brand new Jordans would actually look better in baby size, and on HER feet! All of a sudden, those Evisu Jeans would look better in Baby size and on HER butt! All of a sudden, those brand new NEW ERA Fitteds would look better in size 5 and on HER head!
Yup, Baby Brooklyn is going to take over the world! I tried to told you alls! (She's obviously ALREADY Taken over mine!!)

I don't normally like dogs.....

But this lil guy deserves to be on my blog!

Makes you wonder sometimes.....

I remember having a talk with DJ P. about conspiracy theories. This totally could have happened! Yikes! If I go mysteriously missing in the next few days, you know that "they" got me!

OH YAH! Don't forget that Aug 2nd is the beginning of.....

SHARK WEEK!!!

And now I leave you dear Readers with some Friday Lovin.....

LUSTING Mary-Louise Parker!!

Happy BDay to A.Yan, the Yan-Man, the Globe Trotter! I live vicariously through Mr Yan, only because he gets to get to Cali more often than I do! Few people in my inner circle keep me in check and can call me on my B.S. since Highschool days. Mr Yan is one of 'em! Have a wicked 34th bday sir!

Get Your Fatigues On, All Black Everything, Black Cards, Black Cars, All Black Everything.....

Day FIVE of not having any Telus Network service. BOYCOTT TELUS! I'm trying to told you all!!
So, I've been finding ways to occupy my time with my new BlackBerry. I've finished all the levels on WordMole, Won $5,000 on Texas Hold'em Poker, Made a few travel notes, and listened to the new Jay-Z song "Run This Town" about 1500 times.

After his release of the "D.O.A. - Death of Autotune" lead single from the Blueprint 3 album, many people questioned the second release of "Run This Town". My own circle tried to break it down, and the consensus is that this is just another track that will either grow on you slow, or you will never like it. As for me, it has grown on me, but because of Rihanna on the hook, it may never grow on me (similar to "Hollywood" on Kingdom Come, it has never grown on me).
Here are my thoughts, just my thoughts:
Right away, Rihanna's voice makes my skin curl on the opening. Not a good sign.
0:36 Roc Nation, the leaders of the new school. Throw your diamonds up.
0:41 "All Black Everything" see: D.O.A. "I might wear black for a year straight"
0:51 "This is La Familia I'll explain later..." see: Roc Boys video.
1:19 Ri-Ri "walkin tall against the rain" Post-CB Beating, walking tall? Against the rain? Under her umbrella-ella-ella-eh-eh-eh...
1:54 "augh augh" see: D.O.A. "Augh"
1:58 "maison Martin Margiela" there he goes again, next next next level. Possibly to rival Kanye's Louis deal?
2:10 "they should throw they hand in cause they ain't got no spades" see: "Excuse Me Miss": "all I need is a partnerto play spades with the cards up, ALL TRUST"

Kanye definitely kills his verse. Quite possibly as a recoup after the "Death of Autotune" jab to show that he's still lyrically relevant? You decide!
2:55 "no homo" Hahahaha! LMAO! He Still has to say that?
2:59 "next time I'm in church, no photos" Oh, but when you go to KFC, TMZ is ok?
3:20 "she got an ass that will swallow up a G-string, and up top, uhhmm two bee stings" Well done, Mr West, well done!
3:33 "I'm beasting off the Riesling" what, rappers got sick of the hard stuff, and Kanye's on to wine now?
3:45 "have you ever had shoes without shoestrings?" Does Velcro shoes count?
3;55 "You feelin like you runnin huh? Now you know how we feel." Running from ___, or running towards ___, Kanye?

There's obviously WAY more than this embedded into this track, but Lyrically I like it! Like I said, the Ri-Ri part really annoys me, but I could look past it.

Can't wait for Blueprint 3 now. Quite possible I'd cop two copies just to boost sales!

You Know I'm Such A Fool For You, You've Got Me Wrapped Around Your Finger, Do You Have To Let It Linger, Do You Have To, Do You Have To.....

Still no Blackberry network service from Telus.
I've been trying to be patient, but 4 days without all the functionality of a brand new phone, and for what I paid for it..... Somebody Gonna Getta Hurted!
Basically from what they have told me, anyone with current Telus service has had no interruptions, but if you've had any changes to your service/plan, new activations, or modifications to your account, you're screwed. Gee, thanks. So, I've decided to let Karma takeover. I'm being as patient as patient can be. For an owner of a new Blackberry, and all I can do with it is play video games, I might as well have bought a new TV for Baby Brooklyn's room! Sheeesh.

Check out the sick beat from Beanpie Promotions! And the bestest part, Baby Brooklyn gets her first internet shoutout!! Be ready world, Baby BK is coming for you!
Speaking of which, Baby Brooklyn weighed in at 4 lbs 11 ozs today! Yep, she's getting bigger by the minute! Pretty soon, she won't be able to fit inside of Daddy's fitted New Era caps any longer!!

The BESTEST news that I got today (Besides Brooklyn's shoutout) was that Dolores O'Riordan is coming to Toronto! Sept 24th at the Phoenix! I can hardly wait, I almost pee'd a little!! If you're a fan of the Cranberries, looks like Dolores is coming solo! The only one bad thing is that the Phoenix is general admission, and it would be hard to get to the front of the stage, but then again, to listen to Dolores, I'd stand for 4 hours! Whooo Hooo!!

You've Got Me Turning Up and Turning Down, I'm Turning In I'm Turning 'Round, I'm Turning Japanese, I Think I'm Turning Japanese, I Really Think So...

Just a few reasons why I would like to start a #BoycottTelus campaign:
- I've now been without service to my phone for 60 hours.
- I purchased a brand new Blackberry at exactly the price that they requested that I pay because I still had 15/36 months left on my contract. I had to sign a new 3 year agreement for it, which makes me no different than any ordinary Joe without a previous Telus contract who gets the same phone for $230.
- The difference between the price that I paid for the Blackberry and the $230 is far less than waiting out the remaining 15 months on my contract, and sticking with an old Blackberry model.
- I still have no service on my Blackberry that I am paying 36 new months of service for 60 hours of which I'm not getting what I'm paying for.
- Everytime I call Telus customer service I have to tell my same story from the very beginning when they have every call that I've made right on file in front of them.
- With the mobile market being so competitive, you would think that they would do the utmost in making sure that their customers have uninterrupted service.
- While I was on hold, they were explaining a new feature where you can get reimbursed if you experience a dropped call. BUT, you have to call back the same number that was dropped within 60 seconds, and some other yadda yadda that I wasn't listening to. If a call is dropped, of course you are going to call back within 60 seconds, or why would you be calling that person in the first place?
- My lack of network service has kept me off of Twitter for the past 4 days.
- With no network, I'm not getting my emails, web browser, and sports scores updates.
- Cel Phone and data rate plans in Canada are amongst the highest in the world. I'm moving to Europe soon.
- I'm hoping one customer service agent googles my name and finds either this blog or my Twitter account and sees #BoycottTelus.
- Having a brand new Blackberry with no service is like buying a brand new Porsche and not putting any gas in it whatsoever.
- The sheer fact that I'm using a whole day's blog post to this should tell you how annoyed/frustrated/perplexed/concerned/and just generally pissed off I am at Telus.

Ok, rant over.
WoooooSahhhhh.

He's Doing the Monkey, The Mashed Potatoes, Jump Back Jack, See You Later Alligator.....

Ok, so the gratuitous pics of Baby Brooklyn finally stopped! What's the reason? Daddy went back to work today! BOOOOO!
So what's left to blog about? Can't really blog about work anymore. That's a forgone topic. Oh wait, they did change the seating plan around at work. I'm still in the same spot, but 5 other coworkers had to change spots. Yipeedeedee.
Oh yah, I almost forgot! Papa's got a brand new toy!
Yep, I finally broke down and picked up the new Blackberry 9630 "the Tour"!!

Of course Dr Evil, ooops, I mean Baby Brooklyn is my home screen!

For some reason taking a picture of a Blackberry with a camera seems pretty surreal and redundant. But I guess you can't take a picture of a Blackberry with it's own camera. Ok, I just weirded myself out.
The shittiest part about the whole deal is that Telus signed me in for a brand new 3 year contract and totally neglected the 15 months I still had left on my previous 36 month contract. The guy in Retentions made a big stink about why new sign ups get the Tour for $230 because they are signing new contracts, blah blah, but I told them, "Isn't that what I just did? Signed up for a NEW 36 month contract?" IDIOTS. So I figured that if I was a "good citizen customer" and waited the 15 months out, it would be 2011, the Olympics would be over and I still wouldn't have a Bberry with a camera on it that I like. So, the breakdown in getting the Tour seemed like a good idea for the timing that I'm in. The downside of the whole situation (besides the new 3 year contract), at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, all the phone companies will be launching new phones for international customers PLUS a new Global network launch will be unveiled. Ahh Crap. The nice thing is that the BB Tour is already global ready, so I'll see you in Paris! :)
The last shitty part about hooking up the Tour is that it's been 24 hours, and I still don't have full service and full applications. They told me that the "network has been down, blah blah blah, we are upgrading our services, blah blah blah, I used my old SIM card, blah blah blah, and please wait until 72 hours for full functionality." CRAPOLA. I bought a new phone, it should work right away! IDIOTS!
But watch out Twitterers! Heyhomee is back with a vengeance!

Everytime I Close My Eyes, I Thank the Lord that I've Got You Baby, And You've Got Me Too.....

Cherish the Weekends continues! Another busy weekend Sunday as Dad prepares to get ready to back to work on Monday. The really crappy thing about having a newborn, and then going back to work is (1) Missing out on Naptime! (2) Missing out on Baby Girl and (3) Missing out on changing diapers throughout the day!
We just went through our first load in the Diaper Genie II today! Amazing, but true, only 3.5 days worth of diapers for this preemie newborn, and she filled that Diaper Genie up! And Yes, Daddy did finally learn how to operate the Diaper Genie and change the bags! Now, if only they would invent one of these things for Cats!!
The coolest thing is that Baby Brooklyn is now into changing clothes more often, so we are taking to having mini Fashion Runway shows with her! The only problem is that NOTHING fits her, she's too tiny! At least she'll grow into stuff rather than grow out of it at this point!

She likes the Purple!
Another fun-filled day of running around and doing errands. Today was sans baby though as the stroller and carseat would totally slow me down. Did some more laundry, ran to the mall, did some groceries, back to WalMart to exchange some baby stuff, donated yet even MORE clothes to charity (mostly to clear room for the playpen), and passed out in a heap of exhaustion!

Brooklyn was not too impressed that I didn't take her along for the ride! Next time, baby girl, next time! :)
I'm really dreading work tomorrow, but there is a few bright spots to be had. (1) I get to answer 1500 emails waiting for me in my inbox. (2) I get to delete 1450 emails waiting for me in my inbox. (3) I have something to rush home to and see a smiling face and purring cat to greet me! (4) One BIG surprise awaits all of you tomorrow. Can't say what just yet, but Daddy's got a new toy! :)

Go Brooklyn, Go Brooklyn, Go Brooklyn, Go Brooklyn, Go Brooklyn.....

Ok, finally a "normal" day at home for Baby Brooklyn! The electricity is back on, Hot water is present, and everything is back to "normal". Including the whole "Cherish the Weekends" bit!
First up, Brooklyn's First Pediatrician Appointment! We lucked out with a great referral, and she's right in the neighborhood! Whoo Hoo! Brooklyn was the star of the show, as she took her first stroller ride, and her second car ride and car seat trip! (I still want a Bugaboo stroller btw.) Brooklyn weighed in at 4lbs 8oz, just even with the weight she left the hospital at.
Then we headed to my new favorite store. NO, not Babies R Us, but WalMart! Brooklyn really liked the ghetto crowd at our local WalMart. Everyone was smiling, and coo'ing, and "Oh what a cute lil baby!" I guess I have to get used to all that, but I'm not sure I ever will.
Then came Brooklyn's first Bottle feed! That's right, Daddy got a turn and we tried her on the bottle for a feeding. She was a bit hesitant at first, but eventually she got the hang of it, and took to the bottle pretty fast after that.

Then came the ever important NAPTIME! Awesome excuse for Baby and Daddy to spend some quality time, NAPTIME!
We tried to see if she would pay any attention to TreeHouse channel on TV. She watched about 5 mins of the Backyardigans and then lost interest. She really didn't like Dora (thank you Lord!). The one thing that did catch her attention was Coraline on DVD! YES, this is truly MY daughter!

Oh and of course, Winnie the Pooh seems to be the early favorite for sleeptime blankets. AND it matches her crib matress set, whenever she does get big enough to start sleeping in her crib!

Big day for little Baby Girl! Totally Pooped! Cherish the Weekends!!

No Sleep Til Brooklyn, No Sleep Til Brooklyn.....

Wow.
Day One with brand new baby at home, and I should take my own advice, Be Careful What You Wish For! We knew it was coming, the adjusted (maladjusted) sleep schedule. We knew it was coming, the dirty diaper poops! We knew it was coming, the adjustment for Brooklyn to the new environment. Never did we imagine such new adventures though!

Baby BK totally doesn't fit into her crib. For now she sleeps in the Pack n Play Bassonnet. She's still a pebble in the ocean in this thing. I think she was thrown off, because for once, she had a morning where no one was taking blood, poking at her feet, trying to weigh her, and listen to her heart rate!

Then came the real fun. We woke up to realize that the power had gone out at 5am! No lights, no phone, no TV, no internets, no hot water, no laundry, NOTHING. There was a bad storm last night and they think it was a blown transformer. I even had to walk down 9 flights of stairs, went to the Timmy's to grab breakfast (no hot water or electricity, remember?) and then walk back up 9 flights of stairs (no elevator), down a pitch black hallway, all for Capital M! (awwww)

Guess who was not phased one bit by all the morning action. Not One Bit.

I lied, only a dirty diaper can phase this Baby!

We had our first unexpected Diaper Change Surprise today also! Just as M was changing Brooklyn, she had the dirty diaper off, and Brooklyn decided right then and there that she wasn't done pooping! Awesome! So, with poop on her PJ's, and mom trying to clean it up, what more could Brooklyn do to rub it in? That's right, she pee'd right then and there also. Lucky the pee was on M's side of the bed. Safe to say, Brooklyn also got her very first bath at home today also.

People have been wondering how Leonidas has been acting with the new baby in the house? Is he jealous? Is he curious? Does he play with her?

You tell me. Business as Usual for King Leonidas. Quality Lap time with his Daddy.
But yes, to answer, Leo is curious, he's smelled Brooklyn a few times, but hasn't scratched her, pawed at her, or tried to play just yet. It'll take him about 5 days, the same as it does with any stranger that comes to stay with us for him.

I've Seen Your Face A Hundred Times, Everyday We've Been Apart. I Don't Care About the Sunshine, Yah, 'Cause Mama, Mama I'm Comin Home.....

The day started out much like any other day we've had over the last NINE days, going to the hospital to see the fam. I was told to not expect anything and just go with the flow today, or at least expect the unexpected. After all, when you have children, the unexpected is normal!
One good bit of news, Baby Brooklyn weighed in at 4lbs 8oz, which finally surpassed her birth weight! Preemie Baby Girl is well on her way to growing up already!

I Tried to Told You All that She has the BESTEST *SIDE EYE*!!

Both Baby Brooklyn and I have really had enough of this hospital. No TV, no music, No big brother Leonidas, no toys, no playpen, NOTHING! Nada! Niente! Bored bored bored bored bored!
Then all of a sudden, some GREAT NEWS! Capital M had 3 consecutive blood pressure readings all in the safety "normal" zone!! 130/90!! Whoo Hoo! The Doctors couldn't Wait to get us out of there! You bet you never seen a Homee Pack up things SO Fast in your life!

Baby Brooklyn also fresh off her successful Car Seat Exam, was comfy-cozy and ready to hit the road!

We are FINALLY on our way HOME! After all, this is the whole reason WHY we moved in the first place! Let the new adventures begin!!

Capital M, Baby BK, and I would like to sincerely thank everyone at Mount Sinai Hospital for their expertise, their professionalism, their hospitality, and their care!
Big Shout outs to Dr Hawrylyshyn, Dr Ahn, RN Eunice, Dr Lasken, Carol, Natalie, Lorraine, Janice, Karen, Donna, Janet, Ping, Dr Devarajan, Angela, Sylvie, Cara, and Marina! (When you're in the hospital for Nine Days, you get to meet alot of nurses!) I'm so horrible with remembering names, so I typed in them into my BBerry as we met them all on their various shifts. Thank you all again for taking care of our Family!

Baby BK settled in really well in her new bassonnet.

It's actually the Pack N Play but it has a Bassonnet attachment to it. We figure she can sleep here until she gains some more weight and then move her to the crib (the infamous crib) when she is ready.

Oh, and look who's started to get jealous of all the attention?

Big Brother Leonidas is wondering where his milk and soother are??

Well Alright, Well Okay Baby, I've Finally Done Something Right, I've Got You In My Life.....

And this would be officially ONE FULL WEEK we've spent at the Hospital now! Good Times!
On the bright side, some good news today is that Brooklyn passed her Car Seat Test! Whoo hooo!

I Tried to Told You all that Baby Brooklyn is going to Take Over the World! Here, she is practicing her Dr.Evil pose! Baby BK now weighs 4lbs, 4oz, almost close to her birth weight! Finally!

"OH HAI! I'm not waking up just yet! But I'll wave at you!" Brooklyn and I just might go home without Mommy at this point in the game.

Both Brooklyn and I are INCREDIBLY BORED sitting in this hospital all day! Hurry up and get well Mommy! Mom's BP is still 130/100, not getting any better, but not getting any worse! Craziness!!

I bought Brooklyn this from the Indigo Gift Shop downstairs. Right on time for when the movie comes out! It might even be Brooklyn's first movie ever!! Stay Tuned!!

I had a chance to reflect on just how long we've been at this hospital. Now, I already hate being at the hospital as it is, so it's no secret that I'm not comfortable being here!
You KNOW when you've been at the Hospital too LONG when:
-You are giving guided tours to the new families to be.
-Those same new families come and go home before you.
-You see Parents come through with their first born AND second born children while you're still there.
-You help the Interns with their processes and procedures.
-You give visitors directions without even hesitating.
-My beard is getting longer than Tom Hanks' in Castaway.
-The Janitorial Staff is calling me "Hey Homee!"
-The workers at the Timmy's in the basement no longer screw up my order of a Large Double Double with Milk.

Song of the Day: Well Alright - Babyface

Could You Be The Most Beautiful Girl In the World? It's Plain To See, You're The Reason That God Made a Girl.....

Yes, we are STILL at the hospital!
A couple of big things happened today! The Lottery ticket I bought for Brooklyn's Bday won me $30!! Wooooo Hooooo! I ended up going to WalMart and spending $150 of those winnings on Diapers, Breast Pads, and Baby Wipes! Awesome!
Baby Brooklyn's Umbilical Cord fell off today also! Wooooo Hooooo! Baby BK is getting bigger!
As for Capital M, she finally posted a blood pressure reading of 137/83! Awesome right?? WRONG, she jetted back up to 150/110 and shook off any chance of us leaving the hospital today! :( Booo Hooo!

Brooklyn is not overly impressed with Mama's High Blood Pressure right now.

So Daddy Homee took off to grab some dinner. Where else? BK of course! Something tells me that Brooklyn is going to be ordering off this menu an awful lot!

We are going to tell her that BK was named right after her! They did the same thing with me, making me believe I owned the CN Tower and CN Rail!

Baby Toes are SOOO Cute! And Tiny!

So for all you haters out there, Yes, Daddy Homee REALLY did do it! Baby Brooklyn has her own New Era Yankees Fitted to match her Daddy! Unfortunately, it's too small for her (Believe that or not) but I had to hold it in place for the shot. It's a bit blurry, but I'm sure we'll have more photo ops with it once/IF we ever get home!

This Little Light of Mine, I'm Gonna Let It Shine, Let It Shine, Let It Shine.....

Okay, we are one more day closer and closer to getting home! Much progress today! Capital M's breastmilk has come in fully, and Baby Brooklyn is gaining weight back on the upswing!
We are trying to develop a routine where she breastfeeds for one feeding, pumps into a bottle, and I cupfeed Baby Brooklyn for the next feeding. This will help Capital M get some sleep to skip a feeding, and hopefully get her blood pressure down to a reasonable level. The nurses are also taking Baby Brooklyn to the Nursery at night time so that Capital M can focus on more sleep and the nurses just cupfeed Brooklyn the spare milk or formula as a supplement.
Capital M also had a blood test for her liver enzymes and those seem to be returning to normal. Mommy's on the mend!!

Baby Brooklyn, on the other hand had a carseat test and failed about halfway into it! :( Poor baby girl! They basically test the heartrate of the newborn babies while they're in their carseats so that they can see if they will endure the ride home, and the weekly visits to the doctors. Sounds like a GREAT idea, except for the fact that Lil Baby BK is so tiny, she wasn't meant to be crouched over curled up in her carseat just yet. So, they have to wait 24 hours to test her again, but they are going to try Level 2 which is testing her lying flat. This would mean that we would have to take her in a Snugli or the stroller as it's layed flat out. Stay Tuned!

Baby Brooklyn had her very first Manicure today (courtesy of Daddy!). She had this very content smile all over her face through the whole thing! Dangit, I'm gonna be in so much trouble when she gets older....

I TOLD you that Brooklyn has THE BEST "SIDE EYE" look!

People are saying that as she's filling out, she looks like a mini me! I'm cool with that!

I am getting a great edumacation on some cool drugs I will say. Adelat, Labetalol (sp?), Hydrolozyne, Magnesium, and my personal favorite, Tylenol 3's! :) Pretty crazy drug cocktail concoctions they can make in these hospitals, but all to a good cause, we are hoping!

Tomorrow is going to be our one-week anniversary of being in the hospital! I guess I shouldn't complain, the free Health Care system really has not failed us thus far. The support and help we are getting now is much better than going it alone and being home too soon.

Song of the Day: This Little Light of Mine - Unknown

All Alone On A Sunday Morning, Outside I See the Rain Is Falling, Inside I'm Slowly Dying, But the Rain Will Hide My Crying.....

OK, much better day today. Back on the road to recovery for Mom and Baby.
The family got reunited, and we are all on the mend!
They gave Capital M a private room which is what she needs to get some sleep and even keep her stress level down for her blood pressure. This means no other screaming kids following Brooklyn's lead in the screaming dept. No other people's visitors being loud, obnoxious, rude, and stinky.

For Baby Brooklyn, it's just another day. She says, "Don't worry Daddy, I'm SKRONG! I got this covered!"

I did say a few prayers last night. The very very very very very weird part is that on the train ride home, look who's seat I found beside me:

Thank you ALL on BBM, Twitter, text messages, emails for your Positive Thoughts and Prayers! The Power of Positivity strikes again! We all are blessed to have you in our support network! Thank you each and everyone!

I've Never Seen This Kind of Love, The Kind That Won't Wash Away, And Then Leave You In The Dark, I Would Die For You.....

O.M.G.! Oh Ma Gawd! TRAINWRECK DAY! Tragedy strikes!
Ok, well maybe not Tragedy, but being in the hospital for 4 days now is taking a toll on the system! I don't like being in hospitals as it is already, and 4 days is more than this Homee's fill 0f them! I will say that the staff has been great, and they truly are looking out for all of our best interests.
The "Tragedy" part actually started last night. Capital M's blood pressure still hadn't lowered, and they ended up putting her from the Post-Partum floor back down to the Labor and Recovery floor! This meant that Baby Brooklyn would have to spend the night alone in the nursery! NOOOOO!
So then, I go home in a total emotional TRAIN WRECK state and have to find a way to hold this family and my sanity together.
I show up at the hospital this morning and I just LOST it. LOST it. Baby Brooklyn was put in an incubator to help protect her against Jaundice. Even though it was all a precautionary measure and for the best future for her, it BROKE MY HEART to see my baby girl stuck in a box!

All my future, all her entire life just flashed before my very eyes! Going from a state of holding her, and falling asleep with her in my arms to seeing her inside this box like she was a reptile exhibit at the Zoo, was intense. I was completely emotionally LOST.

As I sat there looking at my newborn daughter through the plexiglas, I thought, "it really must suck to be stuck in a box." Here is why it sucks to be a 4 day old baby stuck inside a box:
1. She has to wear this eye mask thing to protect her retinas, but she's so tiny that it doesn't even fit her properly.
2. I had to change her while she was stuck in the box. Oh yah, recession hits hard at the hospital, you now have to bring your OWN diapers, wipes, kleenix, and facecloths. Pretty cheap, huh? Bastards.
3. No naptime with Daddy, laying on his chest while you're in a box.
4. It is pretty lonely being stuck in a box as a 4 pound Preemie.

About the only good thing for her being under the lights of the incubator:

She's gonna be REALLY ready when it comes to tanning season!

Capital M had to go for Magnesium Treatment for her liver, as well as 24 hours of strict SLEEP and Bedrest! Insane, but I guess when you think about it, she's had major surgery and really does need some time for herself to recover. I'm such an emotional TrainWreck, it isn't pretty!

Another piece of Irony for today? This weekend was supposed to be our PreNatal Classes for Capital M! Ooops, too late!!!

AAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!

I Can't Go On, Sayin the Same Thing, Cause Baby Can't You See, We've Got Everything Going On and On and On.....

Sincere apologies for the lack of updates! It's really Monday, but this is what was Friday. Capital M's blood pressure hasn't gone down to the proper "regular" rate, and she has been on a cocktail of medications to help try to reduce her BP.
Baby Brooklyn is doing fine! She lost a bit of weight down to 4 pounds even, but we were told that it's normal that babies lose weight before they start gaining weight. It's because they are so full of fluids, that their bodies are adjusting to life outside of the womb. As long as they don't lose 10% of their original birth weight, they are ok. We got a bit of a scare there because she's so tiny, and a preemie!
We had a bunch of visitors today, Mich and Church, and Liz and her boys came for a visit which helped cheer up Capital M, and helped introduce Brooklyn to her extended support network of followers!

Before you get to what you really want to see, DID YOU KNOW THAT THERE'S A SELF SERVE TIMMY'S AT UNIVERSITY AND DUNDAS??

It's only self serve in the mornings, but STILL! Why didn't somebody told me?? SOOOO much fun pouring your OWN Timmy's and not having someone who doesn't speak English screw up your order every morning!

Baby BK (new nickname) is starting to get really comfy with clothes on.

Not a good sign for Daddy who has to work his retail connections.

Brooklyn tried to see if she'll fit into Daddy's Fitted New Era Caps yet:

NOPE! She's still got a little ways to grow!!

This is what Brooklyn thinks of the Papa-Razzi!

"Okay Daddy, TOO many pictures already!"

We DID get to go to our first Breast Feeding class today! Brooklyn is already SO smart, she passed the course before it even got started! She came out right away with a perfect latch and perfect suckling reflex! That's MY GIRL!!

One piece of Irony about today: This was supposed to be our Hospital Tour of the Labor and Recovery Ward as well as the Post-Partum Ward! OOOPS, we have a head start, crash course on that already!!

Isn't She Lovely, Isn't She Wonderful, Isn't She Precious, Less Than One Minute Old.....

Alot of FIRSTS are coming for baby now. Her first 48 hours have been such a whirlwind so far. She had her first poops. Daddy changed his first 5 diapers.

AND she has HAIR! Anyone wanna volunteer to braid this baby girl's hair?

Brooklyn also had her first bath today.

She liked the hair shampooing and scalp massage part.

But she really didn't like the dip in the tub and get cold when you're not in the tub part. Glad to know that her lungs are already fully developed though!

Then she was HAPPY as a Peanut wrapped up in those heated towels! I've got a spoiled lil Princess on my hands, indeed!

I TOLD you that Brooklyn has the BEST *side eye* ever! She was like, "Dad, if you don't turn off that camera, I'm going to Cry!"

And she was not lying!

The other thing that's cool is that I've now mastered the art of the blanket wrap. It was tough to get down pat because she's so tiny, but it's basically like wrapping a burrito with some room to breathe. Now if only I can get Capital M to wrap her that well! :)

Congratulations to our dude JJ7 who got the chance to play last night against the Edmonton Eskimoes, and he came through with the WIN! We know JJ7 was repping for his daughter J3 and for Baby Brooklyn also! JJ7 completed 19 of 28 for 362 yards, 4 TD's, 1 fumble, and 20 yards on the ground! Awesome game, awesome win, Brooklyn says Congrats to Uncle JJ7!

NOW I know why he wrote this for his daughter!

Brooklyn, We Go Hard, We Go Hard, B-R-O O-K L-Y-N Come Again......

Day two with Baby Brooklyn, and boy was she glad to see Daddy come to visit!

Just look at the enthusiasm on that face!! We've decided that she has my hair, my nose, my eyelashes, my lips, and my toes. She has her mommy's fingers, and well, that's about it so far!

Finally she opened her eyes! She doesn't quite like the papparazzi, so we stopped with the flash photography. Life is tough for a one-day old Premie!

Proud Papa! With his brand spankin new NY Yankees fitted cap in the background. I saved wearing this one just for the birth of Brooklyn. Now we gotta find a fitted cap just for her!

Must be tough to live Brooklyn's life. Eat, sleep, poop, eat, sleep, poop. Her she demonstrates her mastery of the art of sleep. They said that she might be able to come home as early as Friday, but they might keep her til the weekend just to make sure there are no complications. More Stress!

When I got home, they told us to prepare for getting her ready to take home. That basically meant, "Dad, put toghether the dang stroller." So I did. Not bad eh? Handyman Homee to the rescue! We really only needed her car seat because they have to run some tests on her while she's in the carseat because she was 4 weeks so early.

While I was on it, I figured that she would love to be in this rocker when she gets home, so I put that together also. I think that's basically it for things that I have to assemble. IF anyone buys anything more for this kid, fair warning that you are assembling it yourselves!!
