Welcome to Homee's Joint got some love from our friend KILLA. After all, I did introduce them to some Designer Cookie's cupcakes!! Hahaha the look on Quincy's face is like, "Gimme them cupcakes or I'm gonna jump you!" Spread love, it's the Brooklyn way!
Speaking of the lil devil herself, guess who now weighs 11.5 pounds?? That's right! AND she's on Level TWO diapers now! That's a lot of poop for such a cute lil monster!! Babygirl leaves on Friday to Winterpeg for the holidays! Daddy's gon' miss you Babygirl!! How could you NOT miss this face??
Cherish the Weekends! And this Sunday is NOT the day of rest that I planned for. Instead, we had to get over to a couple of sample sales for Xmas presents, then down to Orfus Road outlets for some party planning and event coordination in Winterpeg and Vancity! Don't get too excited though, these are not the parties for public consumption! BY Invite Only! ;) As soon as I saw this life-sized snow globe, I knew I just HAD to buy it for my brother and his new house! There's a carousel inside it with Santa, Rudolph, and some Penguin!
If you need a fun place to go on a boring afternoon, try Party Packagers. They have really cool stuff for cheap. You can also keep tabs on who really sucks by checking out their clearance section! I'm STILL trying to figure out who iCarly is??
If you ever had an occasion with a need for cowboy hats and sombreros, this is THE place to find them! I think I might just have to host a Cowboy hat party one of these days next summer. Then again, they look like the kind of hats that would turn your head into all sorts of weird colors when you take them off. Neverminds!!
Oh, and don't forget about New Year's decorations and outfits! No shortage of sparkles and shiny things to wear for New Year's here! Which reminds me, I have to start setting up my New Year's 2010 plans! The only thing for sure is that Grey Goose has replaced Veuve at the head table this year!
This was at the cash counter. I dunno why I found it funny, but if you really need a lip inflation, don't buy this stuff! Just let someone (me) punch you in the lip! LMAO! I really surely do hope that girls out there aren't wasting money on this stuff??
It's Brunch Day yet again! My brunch partner's shirt says, "Good things come in small packages" What it also fails to say is that small packages may also contain "Stinky Biohazardous Poop Bombs"!!
We decided to meet up with all the Winnipeggers at the Marche right on top of the Hockey Hall of Fame. I love olives. Especially in my GreyGoose Martinis! The Most dangerous thing about the Marche is that they give you a card to scan all your purchases. So you don't really see a running total of everything that you devour until you try to exit!
The other thing about the Marche cards is that if you lose your's, you have to pay $200. So, we devised a plan where we tested out that someone lost their card, ate everything they possibly could, took some for leftovers, drank some beer, and then paid the $200 worth for the lost card. There's always so much to choose from at the Marche, they have a grill for meats, seafood, pasta, salad station, bakery, creperie, sushi counter, juice bar, and about anything else your heart could desire! Me, because it was brunch, I went simple. Raw oysters and Rosti. Rosti is shredded hashbrowned style potatoes fried with some sort of meat on the side. I'd much rather do the Marche for dinner, but for brunch my preference goes to the gold old greasy spoon spots.
With all the food choices, my brunch partner was Zonked out! I really cannot wait until she's old enough to say "GET IN MY BELLY!"
Capital M decided to go for the tried and true chocolate crepe for dessert. Personally, I put on the bananas, strawberries, ice cream, whipped cream, and chocolate sauce!
The dessert counter here at the March is truly a work of art. Wayyyyy too many choices, and it's good that they have a glass shield up! It stops all the customer drool from getting on the delicious desserts!
My final choice: Chocolate Mousse and fresh fruit! Simple, Decadent, and gets the job done! GET IN MY BELLY!!
This was just about the weirdest Xmas tree I've seen so far this season. It actually looks like a bunch of wreaths, rather than an actual tree. I guess with a water fountain in the middle, they couldn't actually do a Tree tree. Meh. C'est la vie!
Song of the Day: I'm Not the Man I Used to Be - Fine Young Cannibals
It's at the point in time where the chess match is forming into a strategic battle. As with most things in life, there is Time and Chance. I like to think that strategic planning is one of my forte's, however the whole part of leaving things to the X element of uncertainty will always follow Murphy's Law. I'm lining up my Ducks, but as anyone knows, ducks don't always stand still. All in all, even the best laid plans are victim to chance. The best that one can do is have some contingency plans, or at least some foresight. It's not going to be a smooth ride to 2010, but it will definitely be an exciting and emotional one! Stay Tuned!
(For anyone who would like to discuss any of my rants in greater detail, face to face, I can always be enticed with a healthy portion of Grey Goose! Please just remind me of the topic and approximate date, and I can enlighten you further with the Free Zen Mastery)
For those of you who are fairly new to this journal, the picture below is of King Leonidas..... He is forever our first baby (besides Baby Brooklyn). He is basically a mischief maker and a sucker for hugs. He hides his toys in various places around the house and forgets them until it's time to clean and vaccuum. This picture was the first ever picture I posted on my very first post on "Welcome to Homee's Joint". Oh and YES, that is a Yankees New Era Fitted on his head! Like Papa, Like Son!
Happy Thanksgiving to ALL my US readers and anyone who has any reason whatsoever to be thankful. What I do know as fact, I am in a MUCH better place right now in my life than I was a year ago. This I am thankful for! In fact, it was two years ago to this VERY day that I parted ways with The Bay. So really, each year has been successfully better than the last! Now that's progress. What's more, 2010 is shaping up to look really REALLY big!! I'm not counting any chickens before they've hatched, so that's enough about 2010. In the meantime, I am thankful for each and every blessing thrown in my path. Now it's time to pick them up and assemble them like Voltron!
Be Careful What You Wish For Because You Just Might Get It!! Today's breakfast courtesy of Dufflet Bakeries! Chocolate Chip and Cowboy Cookie! GET IN MY BELLY!
MORE Mailbags before Christmas?? Totally Awesome! What could it be? Who is it from? What goodies are inside??
BEHOLD!!! Homee's got his self a couple new pairs of Levi's Capital E Jeans! I'm a big fan of these because the construction is incredible on these, the quality of the denim itself is well paid attention to, and they're timeless!
As a Levi's product, they also remind me of California, my favorite state! Hand made in the USA, and all Capital E's are crafted By Hand! The two pairs that I recieved were a left hand medium indigo denim, and a twisted seam dark indigo denim. Both were in a Hesher Regular Straight Leg fit (No Skinny Jeans cuz my knots won't fit!)
If you want to find true subtleties, all Capital E Levi's product is marked with the signature Levi's Red Tab, but instead of saying "LEVI'S" on the tab, there is merely one Capital E on the tab! Now, don't go around looking at guy's bums for a Capital E on their butt!
I love when products like these come my way! Big thanks to Tracey for the early Xmas present!! These are pretty much my next favorite jeans after my Evisu's! Handmade California denim looks really good next to Japanese Selvedge denim! :)
MAIL BAG! I love I love I love when mail comes my way! What's in today's package? Does Christmas come early? Who's got love for Homee out there? I think if I ever was put in a certain position, I would mail packages and letters out to people on a regular basis. Not typed out letters either, actual hand written letters! My Aunt in Chicago used to do it, and with a fountain pen, no less! Correct with proper stationary and matching envelopes. Call me old fashioned, but meh. I'll do it one day. Anyways, on to the excitement!!
BEHOLD! My AUTOGRAPHED copy of Margaret Cho's "Beautiful" show!! I have had the opportunity to see this FUNNY Korean woman live 3 times in my life. Each show even funnier than the last one! If you've never heard of her, you have to check her out! If you don't like her, I won't hold it against you. One thing's for sure, I'm a fan of her's For Life! And the autographed copy of her DVD is Pure Awesomeness!!
Here's a taste of what her humor is about: I LOVE HER!! Can't Stop Laughing!!
This guy never ceases to make me laugh also: Hilarious!! Hahaha! 16 bars before Christmas! Hilariousness!!
Song of the Day: What We Do - Freeway ft Jay-Z, Beanie Sigel *Le Sigh* Never Again.....
I had a very interesting discussion today. The kind about taking control of your fate, or sometimes just giving fate a bit of a nudge. Nothing is finalized or written in stone (or on paper yet). I've been told many times over that it's good to have Options. I truly do believe in this. Everything that I've done or approached in life, I've always ensured that there are Options. With Options come Choices. And with Choices come Actions, which in turn bring Consequences, Repercussions, and Rewards. "Choose Wisely", as some would say. I can truly say that I've been blessed with living this life with few regrets. No one has No Regrets, because then they'd be fooling themselves. But even with the few regrets that I do have, if I had to do it all over again, I truly would Not Change a thing. Nope. Nothing. (To be discussed further over a big glass of Grey Goose!) I will say that 2010 is going to be one Incredible year though! I thank you all for sticking with me thus far. As always... Stay Tuned!!!
Sunday brunch and my brunch buddy has fallen asleep already!! Just kidding! Baby Brooklyn playing her favorite game of fake sleeping!!
Next up after brunch, a trip to The DESIGNER COOKIE!! If you haven't gonefor a visit yet, you're totally sleeping!! Go get some Cupcakes and Cookies!! Today's choices: Red Velvet Limited Time Only (Just because!)
We also chose these Apple Caramel cupcakes (I forgot the designer name for them). *Drool Drool* They're Apple icing, with Caramel injected INTO the cupcake!! *DROOL DROOL*
Left to Right: Red Velvet, Dolce and Banana, Lemon For All Mankind, and the Apple Caramel! GET IN MY BELLY!!! When you finally DO stop by The Designer Cookie, go say hello to @Monicookie also!
This was my girl Kaysun at her performance at the Opera House 11/07/09: Keep on watching out for her!
Saturday, and guess Who's ready for their FIRST EVER picture with Santa Clause?? Coming correct with her Nike Shoes, Polo Ralph Lauren Dress, and white Children's Place Cardigan! I swear this kid is going to take over the World!!
I can't actually SHOW you what her Santa Clause Picture looks like, because then that would RUIN the surprise for everyone getting a card! Let's just say that if you DO get a Baby Brooklyn x Santa Clause Christmas Card, you're one of the LUCKY Chosen Few!!
So we had some time at the mall to start our Christmas shopping as well! The highest on EVERYONE's list this year is The Slap Chop!! Don't be jealous, I KNOW you want at least two of these!
Then we decided to get a bunch of Snuggies as well! We bought a bunch including Blue, Pink, Zebra print, AND Leopard Print! Have you been Naughty or Nice this year??
And Lastly, for the special ladies out there, we bought a whackload of Bumpits! I fully expect to see some FABULOUS hairdo's out there when I see you ladies next!!
We had to make a grocery run also, and this lady had me intrigued the ENTIRE time we were doing our shopping. She managed to shop the WHOLE STORE with her sunglasses on! Not that I was stalking her or anything (she was following us actually). This was the ONLY time I could see her at least lifting up the glasses to read what she was trying to find!
See? I TOLD you! She word the sunglasses the WHOLE TIME!! WHO DOES THAT??
Then finally back home for some R&R! Baby Brooklyn, coooool chillin on the couch in her favorite seat, in front of the TV! I'm really trying to get used to people telling me that, "I have a cute baby!" But everytime I look at her now, I can see that I HAVE A CUTE BABY!! I Love you Baby Brooklyn!
Song of the Day: You Got Me - The Roots ft Erykah Badu
Imagine a Friday at work, going to get your morning coffee and maybe a cookie for breakfast, and then you find THIS: HOLY CAMOLY! FREE Chocolate Truffle First Thing in the Morning! Thank you Dufflet's!! This actually didn't bode well for me because around 3pm, I crashed from my sugar high and crawled under my desk to take a nap!!
Then, the evening brought me Tickets to the Raptors vs the Miami Heat!! This new Giant LCD Screen outside of the ACC is way cool. I bet the people that live across the street don't even have to buy a TV anymore, they can just watch this from their windows!! Oriana got a chance to sing the National Anthems, and she NAILED them both as usual!!
Apparently, it was Filipino night also at the Raptor Game! Eric Spoelstra, the head coach for the Miami Heat is half Filipino, and the only one in the NBA also! The Filipino members of the Toronto Police also got to get into the game for free! I tried to told them to bring the Palabok, Pancit, Lechon, and San Miguel Beer to make it a REALLY AUTHENTIC Filipino night, but nobody seemed to be listening to me!!
The Raptor mascot got a brand new ride! The could do some really cool promo's with this thing. I first want to see him drive down from Row 26 right down to courtside all down the stairs one day.
Look who I found..... BECKY!!!
Our Cheerleaders wear pantyhose when they perform. Personally, I don't like it, and they aren't fooling anyone with this look. Can you guess which one is my favorite??
I kinda like these seats that we have, but I would much rather sit closer to the middle for a better view of the court and the full game. But then again, anywhere at the live game is better than watching at home!
The flashy new HD Scoreboard also pays off! Now if only they could put up some hustle stats like steals, fast break points, turnovers, you know HUSTLE Plays!! But then again, it might not look so good when other teams are out-hustling us!! So the Raptors ended up winning! AND, all the people who do that sort of thing ended up with free Pizza from Pizza Pizza! (I've never done that in the history of all the promotion, just against my principles I guess. And I like to keep my ticket stubs.)
Then Quiet Storm and I were off and running to let loose for the night. A quick walk through Dundas Square to get some eats. The tree they have set up is kinda cool because it's all LED lights, but it's a bit lame as far as Xmas goes. I hope they have something cooler by the time real Xmas comes around??
So we hit up the Reebok 20th Anniversary of The Pump shoe party. There was an open bar, which of course was buzzin with Red Bulls and anything you could possibly mix it with flying galore! Turns out that they actually ran out of booze right around midnight, but someone found a case of Smirnoff and all was good after that!
DJ Kid Koala, DJ MyManHenri, and DJ Pete Rock (Yes! THE Pete Rock!) entertained the crowd with some banging sets!! Goes to show you that even my DJ Hero skills were NOTHING on these guys! God, I love a DJ who can still cut and scratch with the best of them!
Of course there were tons of shoe displays, the history of The Pump, and Global initiatives, etc etc. Personally, I've never owned a pair of Pumps. I was always a slave to the Swoosh, and Pumps just never did it for me.
Then again, with a guy like Michael Chang backing them up, I should have repped for the Asians out there! But even back then, I was rocking the Aggasi's (as much as he was a crackhead). Shout out to Michael Chang though. Big shout out to all the dudes rockin the RBK gear as best as they could. Shout out to all the Haters that though they were cool rocking Jordan to an RBK party. Me, for those who care, I was rocking Timberlands with Polo. Easy. Easy. Big Shout out to all the ladies (especially the cookies) who represented tonight! Hopefully we cross paths again, and you know how to find me now!
