I Got Tired of Waiting, Wondering If You Were Ever Coming Around, My Faith In You Is Fading, When I Met You On the Outskirts of Town.....

Sunday Brunch and my bestest brunch buddy was ready to go!

Yes, she's still practicing her "Side Eye" techniques and she's getting even better everyday at her "Blank Stare" also!

We are always joking around and enjoying our time together!

Until of course, she's had enough of the Papa-Razzi, and the camera just has to go away! Then she turns back into GodzillaNinja and screams with a terror that sends everyone running!

April 15, 2008 was the first time that I ever blog posted a Taylor Swift song. I knew about her a bit before then, and I knew that she was going to make it big. And she did! She racked up at the Grammy's tonight and congrats to her and all she's accomplished so far. I guess I saw the pattern of country stars crossing over to the pop charts, and the younger generation of country singers starting to take the torch from the older generations. I am NOT in the music business, so I don't completely know all the ins and outs of it all, but I do know that when I see someone that has that certain spark, I watch for them. Taylor has definitely been on my radar before the whole Kanye incident that happened. And just watching how her career has been unfolding, she is definitely going to be watched for many years to come!
There are many issues subsiding with Taylor Swift winning all these awards this year (and those who did Not win those awards also!), many of which should be discussed over some Grey Goose (you'll have to remind me to bring it up though).
It could be that she's your blond haired, blue eyed American Dream girl?
It could be that she's too young to be winning all these awards?
Could it be a genre thing of Country crossing into Popular Music?
It could be a racial thing?
It could be that she's a victim/pawn of the record industry?
Could she be the next Mariah Carey, complete with the crazy future breakdowns?
Either way, Congratulations to Taylor Swift.

Everywhere I Go, Every Smile I See I Know You Are There Smiling Back At Me, Dancin In Moonlight, I Know You Are Free Cuz I Can See Your Star.....

What better way to kick off a Saturday than practicing some Janet Jackson routines?? Baby Brooklyn's getting an early start on her future career!!

She's almost memorized the first two routines all by herself!! Woot Woot!

Oh and it was Capital M's bday party! We had invited some close friends over and ordered a feast in with some extras! Here's the Lobster in Ginger and Green Onion Sauce!

Yes, that's right, LOBSTER! GET IN MY BELLY!!

Song of the Day: Together Again - Janet Jackson (Live American Music Awards 1997)

What A Good Place To Be, Don't Believe It, 'Cause They Speak A Different Language And It's Never Really Happened To Me, It's Happy Hour Again!.....

TGIF, yes, another Friday passes us by! At least I'm not as miserable these last few Fridays as I was for most of 2009! But then again the misery was all relative. I've learned to keep my perspective back in it's proper place. The whole "don't sweat the small stuff" certainly applies here, but sometimes you have to nip the "small stuff" in the bud so that it doesn't accumulate to be "critical mass" type of catastrophe stuff! Also, misery does love company, and I'm not about to surround myself with any miserables anytime soon!
Have a happy and safe weekend y'alls!

In case you missed it, here was Barack Obama taking open questions after his State of the Union Address:

Amazing that he would face his critics like this! He's not the "be all, end all" of presidents, but he's certainly backing up his words! I still can't help but see the similarities to the JFK campaign though... (history repeats itself).

Happy Bday cousin Carol!!

So People Are Better Than What You Give, Believe In Dreams and Think They Are Real, And One Day Soon, The Miracle Will Come True.....

It's weird how things in the universe tend to unfold. Already the 28th day of 2010 and I feel like it's been much longer than that! The new job, a work trip to LA, the new car, Baby Brooklyn growing more and more every day, it all seems like Karma is coming at me with such a blessing!
I fully believe that for every positive, there's a negative. I guess that's the Libra balance in me. Sometimes I have to catch myself when things are going TOO good, because something wickedly bad may just be right around the corner. The other part of me mentally and physically prepares myself for the worst, and when something not so bad happens, I rather get pleasantly surprised than hugely disappointed.
True, most goals in life are subjective and measurable in subjective standards. I believe that you have to celebrate your wins no matter where you get them in life, and no matter how big or small they may be (or percieved to be).
This is going to be a fun weekend coming upon us. Celebrate your wins, celebrate the first month of 2010, and build on whatever year you are putting together for yourself! This is where you pop the bottle of champagne/buy out the bar/raise a glass/drop a Goose Bomb.

RIP Allen Chonn. 5 years ago today you left us, and I have not forgotten for one moment what you have given to me.

There are better pictures of you, but this is the only one I feel like posting.

Happy Bday G.Wong! Long time, no talk. We must reconnect again soon.

You're Gonna Fly Away, Glad You're Goin My Way, I Love It When We're Cruisin Together.....

The local "in the building" coffee spot had Banana Loaf on the menu today. For $2, you get this BIG HONKIN loaf of Banana Bread!!

It was actually really gross, and the experiment failed.

OH and we added a new addition to the family today!

But first, I have to show you this guy! He works at the car dealership and was playing Solitaire the WHOLE TIME we were picking up our car! (I hope I don't get him fired! But I heard he was a nephew of the owner of the dealership though!)

And Ta Dahhh! Welcome the Honda CRV to the Homee Family!

We figured with Baby Brooklyn + more in the family, we would be better off planning a practical ride for the next few years! Ironically, we still kept Ole' Faithful the '89 Honda Civic Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in the fold for emergencies and errands. So the CRV will be accompanying me to the new workplace the for long drives to the boonies!

So, the iPad was revealed today:
I'm trying to figure out how it has a 10 hour battery life, and doesn't heat up so hot to cook an egg on it? And what do you do with all the dirty smudges and fingerprints all over the screen? That would drive me crazy!!
Here's another take on the iPad:

Hahahahaha!!

Happy Bday to the Quiet Storm!
7 years that I've been in this city, and I'll still forever go to bat for you! Have a great time in Denver mang! Stay safe, and don't pull a KOBE!

Song of the Day: Cruisin - Huey Lewis & Gwyneth Paltrow

If An Angel Came Down To Me, Asked What I Would Do Differently, I Would Say Nothing You See, I Love Someone Truly.....

Hey Mom! Look, I'm eating healthy!! Ugh, the lunch scene at the new workplace is quite horrible. There's a Teriyaki place that's just plain gross. There's a Wrap place that's the wrap equivalent of a Subway, but with wraps. There's a Tex-Mex place that you couldn't drag me to if it was the last place with food. There's a Swiss Chalet/Harvey's which one could only take maybe once a week if your stomach will allow you. There's a Montana's Steakhouse, Milestones, and some other fancy shmancy place, but those are usually when a vendor comes and pays for lunch. And then there's Longo's.

Longo's is like a Loblaws grocery. They have a salad bar, soup and sandwich counter, a deli and hot food stand, and even a sushi counter. I guess the prices are ok, but it's still a grocery store at heart. Today for me was the Chili and Fruit Salad combo. Weird, right? The guy next to me took one look at the gross salad he had constructed, looked at my yummy fruit salad, and decided to copy me! GET IN MY BELLY!

2 of my coworkers came back from China, and they came back with presents!!

These traditional lucky cats are cool. They said that the one on the left was perfect for me because he has a moustache and he's wearing a hat! Just like Homee! Oh, and that's chocolate in the middle wrapped in foil. Guess how long that lasted?

Guess who learned how to play DJ Hero today??

YUP! Baby Brooklyn is now a CERTIFIED DJ! She could probably play at her own first birthday party if she keeps practicing!!

I Heard He Sang A Good Song, I Heard He Had A Style, And So I Came To See Him And Listen For A While.....

I will never fully understand the car insurance industry. I mean, I get it because I have to deal with them, but I really don't fully understand all the factors that go into an insurance quote or how they calculate whether or not your premiums go up or down. Logic says that when you haven't had a claim, and accident, or a moving violation, your rates should go down, right? But what about if you haven't had car insurance? Then you're treated like a first-time driver, even if you're 30+! Just weird.
Just like how I'll NEVER figure out how Aeroplan Rewards work.
Just like how I'll NEVER figure out how Airfares go up, down, sideways, upside down, worse than a plane trying to land in turbulence!
Just like how I'll never figure out why there are a dozen hot dog buns and 8 hot dogs per package?

Hat Turned Sideways, Pants Hit the Ground, Call Yourself a Cool Cat Looking Like a Fool, Walking Downtown With Your Pants On The Ground.....

Big ShoutOut to my boy B-Boy Boyes who went last weekend to the Cowboys-Vikings game in Minnesota! I really should have been at that game, but damn Aeroplan screwed up with the itinerary and there was no way that I would be able to make it to Minny and then back for my LA work trip without using 1,328,921 Aeroplan miles!! I think I'm going to sign up for Avion now. Dammit. Anyways, here are a few of his pics from the trip!

Favre is pretty much a GOD there since he arrived!

This is CRAZY close! Pre-game warmups!

Romo with his back against the wall. Figures that they didn't even put up a TD the whole game! *Le sigh*

Pretty damn good seats if you ask me! BBoy Boyes would like to thank the people of Minnesota for their hospitality! Hearing from him, they couldn't believe that a kid from Canada would fly all the way down to Minny to watch the Cowboys and Vikes! I guess he showed them what true fans of the game are all about! :)
Boyes, we're going to the big dance next year, and if not, it'll definitely be the NFC Championship game!! I'm already saving my Aeroplan Miles!!
Oh yah, and we STILL have to do the Seahawks Sunday Afternoon/Cowboys Monday Nighter roadtrip as well! NICENESS!!

So tonight was the Vikings vs the Saints. Baby BK decided that she would wear purple to cheer for Favre and the Vikings. Too bad that Daddy Homee was wearing his Reggie Bush jersey! Guess who had to take an EARLY Naptime?? HAHAHAHAA!
Saints vs Colts in South Florida SuperBowl!! Who you picking??

Can't Wait Until Tomorrow, Haiti Mon Amour, Haiti Mon Amour, Not Gonna Leave You Stranded, Alone, Alone, Oh No.....

OK, lots of stuff to catch up on while I've been gone!
Looks like Leo has found a new trick! With the weather warming up, the birds are back on the patio.

So now, Leo is in Ninja Watch mode looking out for the pigeons who like to camp out on the patio railing! They say that cats are smart, I'm still waiting for Leo to prove himself.

Saturday Brunch! And my wishes came true! I swear, someone is reading this blog, or reading my Twitter, and silently answering my prayers! I asked for a new Brunch Spot, and VOILA! We have a new Brunch Spot!

At this spot, you get 2 eggs, Bacon, Sausages, Toast, Homestyle Potatoes (Or Sweet potato Fries), Salad, AND French Toast all for $8!! And they're right in the neighborhood! Walking Distance! THANK YOU THANK YOU! GET IN MY BELLY!!

Baby Brooklyn was mad because her Backyardigans weren't on TV.

Then 5 mins later..... HER prayers were answered!

This is her "watching TV" pose.

Ninjas are ALWAYS cool.....

I have a feeling I'll be doing one of these but in real life!! (Thanks Toys R Evil for the link)

Private Eyes Remix:

I forgot who sent this to me, but they know I'm a Hall & Oates Junkie!

My newest favorite song ever is "Pants on the Ground"

And that's the remix! I really wish I took video editing in school!!

I've Been All Around This Great Big World, And I've Seen All Kinds Of Girls.....

First day back at work, and you just feel UGH.
Especially that first day back at work right after a trip. It really wasn't a vacation, but anytime I get a chance to get out west, it's a nice chance to breathe, stretch, shake, and let it go!
Catching up on emails, meetings, recap meetings, and your body is just being pulled around the clock, rather than looking out at the beach! Not that there was much to look at in the first place with all the rain and wind!
In the meantime, I'll leave you with this:

Most likely, this is what I SHOULD have been looking at for the last 4 days in LA! Instead, well..... you know what I saw. Bah! I feel so ripped off!

I'm Comin Home Again, Do You Think About Me Now and Then? Do You Think About Me Now and Then? 'Cause I'm Comin Home Again, Comin Home Again.....

It it time to go home yet?? Wow, Five straight days of rain, and we had the chance to be in Los Angeles for Four of them! How Lucky Lucky!

The city just looked like one big puddle! And I didn't pack my rubber boots!

On the bright side, I fell in lust with this lady!

Normally, I hate weather girls, but this one completely captivated my attention! She could have told me that it was going to rain so hard that I had to buy a ticket to Noah's Ark, and I WOULD HAVE!

The ONE THING you MUST do when you're out on the West Coast.....

If you've never had an In n Out Burger in your life, you have Never had a burger! WOWEE!! So Good! GET IN MY BELLY!

Duhhhh, do you really think the National Threat Advisory for Terrorist Attack is "HIGH"?

I wonder if they even let you into the airport when the risk level gets to the red zone??

OH, and I DID buy something to take home from this whole trip!

Don't worry! I declared it at Customs!!

Goodbye rain. Good riddance.

Oh and I snuck into the Air Canada First Class Lounge!!

It's nothing special, but I DID get my free beer, free food, and charged all my electronics while I was in there! Thanks Air Canada!

And just when I was about to give the one-finger salute to the weather in Los Angeles.....

A Ray of sunshine FINALLY BROKE OUT!

Go figure that the sun comes out as we're leaving! Booooo!

*sigh* Goodbye Beach!

I'm not sure why I always do this, but here it is:

I guess I figure that if there's any trouble during take off, it'll be MY Video footage that gets sold to TMZ for $1,000,000!! Maybe? I hope? Bah.

Song of the Day: Homecoming - Kanye West

Sunny Days, Everybody Loves Them, Tell Me Can You Stand The Rain, Storms Will Come, This We Know For Sure, Can You Stand The Rain.....

Ok, I hate to be a downer, but this is just starting to get RIDICULOUS! I didn't even get a chance to get to Bloomingdales because the rain was so intense! How bad is that??

Probably for the best though. I would've gone broke over all the new Polo gear to kick off the season already!
I guess with the new job, I've been allowed to truly express my gear and work attire in ways that I have never been able to before. That was one of the big reasons why I took this new job in the first place.

This is the Legends League - Fully Wholly DJ Wristpect x The Clipse tee!
It was getting maaaaad props even out in Los Angeles and all over the OC! Niceness!!

Oh! And I met a REAL LIVE Geisha girl at the Starbucks this morning! She had the real robe, the gleaming white socks, and the sandals even!

Ok, she wasn't a REAL Geisha, but it was really cool to see some Japanese heritage alive and well out in the OC!

Last day of meetings and last day of real work! That meant one thing in my mind:

Goose Bombs!!

Goose Bombs!

Goose Bombs!!

And then bedtime. Good night!

Song of the Day: Can You Stand the Rain - Boyz II Men

Maybe I'll Take the Flight Out Tonight, And You Can Pick Me Up 'Bout Eight, I Dont' Know What Airline Girl, But I Know It Won't Be Late.....

I hate it when I go from the East to the West only because I'm awake at 5am and I can't barely go back to bed for the first few days.

This was the view from the hotel room. Don't be jealous! Because of all the wind and the rain, this was as close as we ever got to the pool!

Kowabungaaaa!

The winds were really hurricane force winds out here! Some formed into tornados and touched down around the state!

And then people that live here were running for the hills like it was Armageddon! Only this time, the hills were full of mudslides and they started to run for Mexico instead! Make a Run for the Border!!

But then at night, it still stayed cold, but at least we didn't have to dodge the weather.

I like the fact that we have a few options at our fingertips for dinner while we're on the road. We actually ended up skipping the Cheesecake Factory.....

I bet you never heard of me skipping Cheesecake huh??

I was just about to take a dare to jump into here, but we were late for our real dinner reservations.....

At the Yardhouse, they have at least 50 different worldly beers on tap. My kinda spot! Usually this spot is like a meat market during happy hour! Whatever happens at the Yardhouse.....

I Know You Up In It All, If You Make This Promise To Me, You'll Make It Back In One Piece.....

I've previously given you some travel tips, but here's one more for all my fitted hat fans and followers: "Don't wear hats that are offensive, violent, or contain images like bombs blowing up as their logo at the airport." (Pretty smart advice right?)

So I ditched my Giant Gorilla x Kid Robot New Era fitted in exchange for my vintage Vancouver Grizzlies New Era fitted.

Smarter choice, the Vancity Grizz cap was getting props and comments all over the airport!

And we're off! Almost!

I'm not going to rant and rave about the bad service from Air Canada, the innefficient line ups, and the crazy innefficient new security procedures they have at Pearson. It's only going to get my blood boiling. Instead, I'm going to stare at this picture for 5 minutes.

Yes, this is a NEW security lineup AFTER customs, and AFTER the regular security. I couldn't even get back to refill my Starbucks after this lineup! I understand in-flight safety and all, but this is starting to get out of control. Can't the terrorists start attacking the GreyHound or ViaRail instead?? Insanity!!

I don't know about you, but to me, this reads like, "XMen Route..."

I guess I'm too much of an X-Men Geek!

One last peek out of the window. Yup! Let's get outta here!

Annnnnnnnnnd we're off! California here I come!

Some people say that travel is overrated, and at times, it really is. But I like to cherish these moments above the clouds and take at least a minute to remember what life is all about.

When I was little, I used to think that heaven was up here somewhere, just above the layer over the clouds. I was so shocked that I didn't see angels playing harps, flying around up here.

But then I began to realize what people meant when they said that this really was "Heaven"! I mean, LOOK AT THAT VIEW!

And so we land in sunny Los Angeles and head right directly for the beach!

Wait, did someone say "Sunny" Los Angeles? It was the worst storm that they had had in 10 years there! Wind gusts that formed tornado clouds! Rain coming at you sideways because the wind was so strong! Most Americans say that Canadians complain about the weather too much, but this storm had everyone we met panicking and running for the hills!

No really, they had to evacuate some people on the hills because of the risk of mudslides and houses flooding!

When the rain finally did let up for a bit, we decided to hit some outdoor mall shopping! Yes, Homee + Shopping = Dangerous. Oh and yes, the outdoor malls in Cali have Ferris Wheels in them.

Oh and Carousels also.

This was probably THE BESTEST thing I saw all day.

A Nike SB, 6.0, Converse, and Hurley shop with a Crink-like, iPod-like Tee and paint display. Pure, simple, and genius! Is anyone for hire to do something like this? Get at me!
And of course, the customary "coolness" toy, the oversized, customized, Munny Doll!

I heart Munny and Dunny!

Dinner for the evening was at the Crow Bar, a very cool spot, with tons of Cougars, and a very "see and be seen" type of hangout!

Being in California, of course Homee orders the Cioppino Seafood stew! GET IN MY BELLY!

And for dessert....custom mini frozen chocolate covered ice cream cones!!
