So this is my last picture of the beach to make you jealous. I hope it worked because I really really really miss the beach. Definitely a sign that says that you are leaving.
The Duty Free shop had this incredible deal where if you buy two bottles of Grey Goose, then you get a free Grey Goose cooler bag! The really CRAPPY part is that you are only allowed to take ONE bottle of Grey Goose with you across the border!! And nobody on my team wanted to declare a bottle of Grey Goose on their declarations because they had already reached their limits with their shopping!! So I didn't end up getting the Grey Goose cooler bag!! Sad Story. (if anyone has any hookups or connections on how to get a hold of this bag, please let me know! Thank you!)
It's great to see Olympic ads and Blackberry ads promoting Ontario and Canada in the middle of LAX airport! Time to go home! Le sigh.
Another action-packed day and a crazy weather day also! It was raining like heck, and we even had a Tsunami warning stemming from the earthquake in Chile!! Insanity! I took the chance to break away from the pack and check out Surfside Sports in Costa Mesa. These folks won SIMA Retail of the Year (Snow and Ice Management Association). They have an incredible store setup, and I'm definitely coming back for more shopping!! This is what the property looked like in the rain. They even set up umbrella stations so you could still walk from building to building without getting drenched! California is surely NOT FUN when there are torrential downpours of rain coming down! Definitely it's not fun when there's Tsunami warnings also! So we ended up at the Ripcurl Flagship shop back at Huntington Beach. Here we got a fashion show of Spring/Summer 2010! ' I Love my Job, I Love My Job, I love My Job, I LOVE MY JOB. Introducing my newest friend Autumn! I have a huge crush on Autumn! Extremely extremely huge crush on Autumn! And this dude is Timmy Taylor. He's a legend on the waves and his family owns the Sugar Shack breakfast spot at the Huntington Beach shops. He told us his whole story of how he had to repair his skull from a Staff's Infection, and he's surfed everywhere from the Arctic, Peru, Argentina, Cuba, Vancouver, and Hawaii! Shout out to Amanda, Drew, and Nick for the great food, the fashion show, and introducing me to Autumn!! Then the weather cleared up for us, but it was still a bit windy. So I took more pictures of palm trees to make you jealous! There was even an Indian Wedding going on at the Hotel! I really had to hold myself back from doing my Slumdog Millionaire JAI HO dance!!
I had a big presentation to make to the group, and as usual, they put me near to the end like you normally do to your power hitters and cleanup batters! :) These are the things I do when I get bored waiting to present.
Then the president like my presentation so much, he took me out for Pints of BEvERages! And the whole team enjoyed a nice relaxed dinner with just us to recap the week and the fun times to remember! Oh, and dessert was Molten Chocolate Lava Cake with Ice Cream. GET IN MY BELLY!
Song of the Day: That's the Thing About Love - Alicia Keys
Day Two of California living, and all is good in the hood!! This is a quick tour of the property that we're staying at. This is the pool, overlooking the Beach! There is a courtyard with these dolphins in the middle also. There are also firepits around the area to keep warm during the evenings! This is the crazy fish fountain that everyone always takes pictures at! I couldn't help but think of Baby Brooklyn when I saw this little statue! The Grocery store on the property has the smartest idea EVER!! Make Your Own Smores kits for the firepits around the property at night!! GET IN MY BELLY!! I'm not sure what to think of this fountain. I just simply said "PAUSE" everytime I walked by it! And what fountain pictures would be complete without Mermaids?? Good old Huntington Beach!! Gotta love it here! More Beach Pictures. More Beach Pictures. One last fountain picture. "PAUSE".
Our first stop of the hectic day was Billabong Headquarters! Their auditorium is a shrine to surfboards and longboards of the century! SO many famous surfers and legendary boards are kept here! And I simply couldn't believe that they would be serving "Florida's Natural Orange Juice" in the state of California!! Yikes! Big Shout out to Mock and the crew over at Bong!
Next up was the Hurley campus, and when I say "campus", it's a CAMPUS! More Kid Robot, more coolness! All the girls were wanting to pose with the classic lowrider! I wanted to turn on the hydraulics and put it into some two-wheel motion!! What? A recording studio!?!? What the heck is Homee up to?? Yet even MORE Kid Robot. Yet even MORE Coolness! This was by far the best display I've seen EVER. They took their best selling tee shirt graphic called "The One and Only" and laquered up all the colors so they look shiny and like statues! Hurley has always had great color pallettes! Here is where they put them on display. "The One and Only", 10 Million Units. Enough Said. Cool Art. I bought this tee shirt. Can't deny the Yeti! The Yeti is coming soon this Fall! Flannel Mania! Flannel Mania! Flannel Mania! Oh yah, and there's a skate park and bowl inside the Campus! I tried to told you that it's a CAMPUS out here! And of course, we had to hit THE STORE. This is basically a warehouse converted to a store, but still a really cool, artistic space! Of course I HAD to buy some new kicks! Introducing..... the Bob Hurley Nike ID Ltd Edition, only available through Hurley Stores!! So of course, I HAD to buy myself a pair!! Pay close attention to the top right corner of this picture. And they even gave away some free pens and free moleskin notebooks! BUT WAIT! It's a PEN AND a USB Storage Drive! Pure Awesomeness!!! Big Shout Out to BWhite, Sue, and team for all their hospitality and good times!!
Then it was off to BB Dakota's Headquarters! And THEY must have gotten the word out about my Cookie addiction also! GET IN MY BELLY! There are times that I really REALLY Really love my new job! This is one of them! I worked damn hard to get to this spot, and I'm not gonna let it go easily at all! This place actually started out as the old Volcom headquarters, which would explain why there are surfboards still strapped to the ceilings! A random head statue on a fence. I know someone who would really love to do this snake statue with tiles and bricks as part of their garden landscaping projects! Here's the picture of it!
Then it was some quality Swimming Pool and Hot Tub time!
And later on some light shopping time over at the Huntington Beach shops! HSS is Huntington Surf and Sport. These guys are legends in the business and a destination store indeed! In fact, they installed the Surfing Hall of Fame just outside of their store despite the city trying to stop them! The beach and the walk along the pier were Incredible! These are the times that I know that I belong back on the West Coast! All those little flecks you see in the ocean are NOT birds, and Not penguins. Those are SURFERS! Insane! Surfer dudes doing surfer dude things! Yes, definitely life on the West Coast could be calling me back! Huntington also has some critical food spots like Wahoo's Fish Taco! and IHOP! Oh how I heart IHOP! And of course, Cold Stone Ice Cream!! GET IN MY BELLY!!
Last stop for the night was Roxy Headquarters where they welcomed us with Veuve Cliquot champagne to kick off the festivities!! ' And look what they ended up serving for dinner!! Wahoo's Fish Taco! This is Holby. He's an American. We got him to wear a Vancouver Canucks Jersey as we watched the Canada/Slovakia hockey game! And we even got all their American Staff members to sing the Canadian National Anthem!! GO CANADA GO! Big Shout Out to TT, Ashlee, Lindsey, and team for the great evening and endless BEvERages!!
